"In Plain Sight is a definite for any summer TV To-Watch list; don't cross it off until you've seen at least one." ... Read full review

"The plots are often unbelievable. But I like Mary, especially as she's set up in the series premiere, complete with a wacky mom." ... Read full review

"McCormack, a rangy actress who looks more comfortable in Mary Shannon's tank tops and casual jackets than she ever did in the lawyerly business suits she wore way back on "Murder One," manages to make all this crankiness intermittently endearing." ... Read full review

"The writers overplay the banter and allow Mary to become so harsh, you wonder why even the most devoted partner puts up with her. But for the most part, as long as McCormack and Weller are together, or sharing time with their boss (Paul Ben-Victor), the show functions as harmless hot-weather pleasure." ... Read full review

The writing and plot is not the greatest but the actors make this show worth watching.

I'm even starting to like de la Fuente's stiff-as-a-board character. I think it will settle in as a pretty great show after time. As to the plots... just think about some of the insane things that have happened on other workplace dramas like ER or Grey's. It's TV. If they just showed the boring days at work, then no one would watch. Expand

Pretty good summer show. The writing could be improved but the characters are amusing.

It's alright for the weekly hour of a show, but not as good as burn notice. I hope that later episodes will be better.

The problem is that some episodes are too much like a procedural, going through the usual motions trying to find out whats going on because the witness isn't telling them everything, and others are just plain boring. The witnesses themselves are just so uninteresting and there is no real sense of threat against them or end goal. Mary's attitude is 'lets babysit this scumbag who I hate but have to protect for my job until they become someone else's problem'. It also shows Mary's family like which is just boring. The show is not funny like many people have said although there are identifiable moments when it attempts to be funny. This shows premise gives it the opportunity to be more action based and serious and have the bad guys actually attacking the witnesses but it blew it. Expand

But this one's tone-deaf and flat-footed, and life's too short to watch execrable TV, even for Mary McCormack, whom I loved in "Broken Hearts Club". Expand
