These 192 minutes speak more directly to the shifting status of women on screen than any public statement could.
Ansari excels as a tortured soul, while Dev subverts stereotypes about the onscreen allure of tall, dark (read: white), and handsome romantic leads by building one of the most honest, moving, and unpredictable love stories in recent memory.

This show retains the artistry of film by having differing episode lengths and reflects the work of a true comedic talent.

Some moments of this show can be brilliant others feel extremely dull and boring. The whole 3rd season completely killed the mood in my opinion. If you're watching this show and like comedy shows I would only watch the first two seasons.

There are times when the dialogue is rough and doesn’t flow quite right, but not enough to overshadow the humor. Ansari has a gem of a show here.
While Louie is often aggressively dreamlike, Master of None feels like a perfect distillation of Ansari’s best comedy. It picks apart the social conventions of his generation, ponders the insidiousness of racism and sexism in entertainment, and obsesses over his inability to form romantic connections--a smart comedy of manners that has more in common with Seinfeld than its contemporaries.
It’s sometimes too languorous for its own good, especially in its midsection, but it builds to a powerful pair of final episodes that really elevate Ackie, who gives a phenomenal performance.
There's a corollary here to Louis CK and his FX series Louie, though Ansari and Master of None are not yet on that level.... What he's proving, with each episode of Master of None, is that he was the right choice for a fresh vision of a TV show.
There are two great performances nestled in this otherwise plodding season. One comes courtesy of Denise and Alicia’s house. ... The other standout turn is from Ackie. ... Its sporadically deft moments with Alicia make it hard not to want her starring in another series entirely that wouldn’t have had to deal with this much baggage.
At first it was tolerable; flat acting they were like reciting the lines rather than emoting it. i got the hang of it UNTIL the episode went into a huge circle and i went no where so it wasted my time. Watch Special and Sex Education instead.

Ansari was great in Parks & Rec (miss that show) but his wide-eyed manic man-child impersonation of a real person just doesn’t cut it. It’s remarkable this has lasted more than one season. And I sort of feel sorry for Claire Danes. The amount of wokeness required these days kills any potentially funny shows.

While there are a few laughs to be had here and there, there are far too many cringe moments to rate this show anything above zero.
I've only watched the first season. Most characters were interesting - Dev's friends, his parents, etc.
Unfortunately, the Dev character is incredibly annoying and essentially intolerable. A 30 year-old man? Really seems more like a small child trapped in a man's body. I struggled through most of the season, but after episode 9, which really focused on him and his also-pretty-annoying girlfriend - I gave up.
My taste is generally pretty mainstream, so I cannot understand how this show got such high ratings from reviewers. The only explanation I can think of is virtue signaling...
