NCIS is going to succeed first and foremost because of Harmon. His character is more or less the same quietly confident, genial guy he played when he was Allison Janney's ill-fated love interest on "The West Wing." He's essentially playing himself, and he's very good at it. [23 Sept 2003, p.B02]
It's a competent clone, one that features a promising ensemble cast led by Mark Harmon and David McCallum - that's right folks, Illya Kuryakin from "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." If you have a taste for procedurals and a liking for Harmon's quiet charm, you'll find the show engaging enough. [23 Sept 2003, p.D14]

First and foremost, I love the television show NCIS; I have watched NCIS with my mother and father since I was young. It was a family night of watching NCIS and eating tacos, something I will remember forever.NCIS was great initially, and when they added the other series. They had partner shows with NCIS LA and NCIS New Orleans. But NCIS was the first show with a cast of characters that included Kate, Gibs, Director Fox, Tony, Ducky, Palmer, and Mcgee. This was the OG unit with different sub-characters coming in. When Ziva came in, she was terrific. So much drama developed every episode, and she just kept leading the characters on. Ellie, Torrez, and Director Vance were the last characters I fell in love with. But since one of the main characters should have stopped and canceled the show, The character led everything and was the glue for the whole show. Once he left, I felt like the show had gone all over. There was no drama and just a special moment coming where, in the past, everything led up to **** my final feelings, you should watch this show. It is excellent, with tons of drama and characters you fall in love with. I can never forget my favorite character, who I left out, Abby. But again, you will fall in love with this show, but it is hard to watch now. They are trying to boost the other shows more and cash out the NCIS name. The new show, NCIS Hawaii, offers that, and I don't even want to watch that because I miss the OG crew. Will we get an NCIS Seattle or NCIS Great Lakes? It could be exciting where the director and producer want to go.

There's too much of this jurisdictional stuff and an overload of staring by Gibbs, most of it directed at the coltish Caitlin. The story is fairly involving, though. And Mr. Harmon is an underrated actor who's added some softer touches after playing Gibbs as a humorless taskmaster in a two-part JAG that introduced the character. [23 Sept 2003, p.10E]
Harmon brings a light touch to this schizophrenic show. He's a sensitive cowboy who does his job and then goes home to work on a boat he's building. [23 Sept 2003, p.B1]
Harmon gives the show a serious injection of star power, and David McCallum plays a colorful medical examiner named Donald "Ducky" Mallard -- Bellisario went wacky with the names. This average crime procedural needs Ducky and every bit of personality it can muster. [23 Sept 2003, p.E1]
But the oddest thing here is Harmon. Normally a charmer, his Gibbs is all stony glances and smarmy silences. Why waste that natural likability? [23 Sept 2003, p.1E]

Now that Wickersham is leaving NCIS maybe the plots can get back to solving crimes and not dealing with characters' individual problems. It is also time to cast stronger actors since the current ones seem to be bored with their roles.

It’s become a real snoozer at times. I have no idea what Wilmer Valderrama is doing on the show. His role has no remarkable characteristics; his acting is flat - anyone off the street could manage his lines. He should be replaced with someone who can act and his character needs to be much more interesting.

La série typiquement archi pourrie avec des tronches de cake au charisme de beignet, des dialogues ineptes et un ennui profond, abyssalement profond qui n’a d’égal que la profusion de ses poncifs et clichés.
Pitoyable sur tous les fronts, on a là avec cette daube un exemple frappant de la série policière américaine de base, plate, téléphonée, générique comme pas deux et écrite avec les pieds par des scénaristes imbibés.
Une sorte de Derrick amerloque donc, avec -en plus- une équipe entière de tanches et de bras cassés en prime : c’est idéal pour roupiller ! il est à noter que cette bouse s’étale à n’en plus finir sur une vingtaine de saisons (!) de chacune une vingtaine d’épisodes environ (!), et c’est une saloperie toujours pas finie !!
