Season Two of New Girl is great, it focuses more on the couples that are formed within the group, such as Nick and Jess, & Cece and Schmidt. The whole cast returns for season two along with new guest stars like Taylor Swift. Nick and Jess get closer and end up on awkward dates with each other. Nick also dates a stripper. Season Two is a bit of an improvement over Season one, cant wait to start Season Three.
Surprising to me, "New Girl" had the strongest start of all the returning sitcoms I'm currently watching.
The characters are likable as ever, the performances are strong, the writing is very good and the 3 episodes I've seen had many funny and even hilarious moments. The really likable David Walton from the cancelled show "Bent" has guest appearances in episodes 2 and 3. It seems, we'll see more of him in the upcoming episodes. So, to all of his fans: Tune in! "New Girl" is one enjoyable, quirky and funny show that has been in gears from the get go this season. It's something I can't say about other returning shows ("The Big Bang Theory", oh dear). So, if you haven't seen "New Girl" yet, check it out!
What happened to this show... I loved season 1 of new girl, it was a comedy i actually found myself laughing out loud to, something hard to find. Loveable characters, funny banter all the way through.... Season 2 started average, and has descended into utter garbage, so much that i have turned off episode 20 mid way through.... It seems the core of each episode, is to stick a dumbed down schmit with winston, and then have Jess and Nick continually shout at each other. Constant screaming sessions of normal conversations, shouting weird things at each other, its pathetic. Splitting the group up, taking cece out of the group, and jess/nick attraction just doesnt work.
So far season 2 has been even worse than the first one. It's clear to me that people only watch this show to see one actress that they obsess over; an overrated, and overall annoying actress. Yes, Zooey Deschanel is back playing the tired "cute dorky girl" character, and it's still not funny or amusing. Stay away from this train wreck.
