The scripts for season three are just as strong and funny as the first two seasons, and the chemistry between Martin, Short and Gomez never flags.
While season three’s premiere is jam-packed with nuggets about the case, it never loses focus away from the comedy. The one-liners and banter continue to flow smoothly between Charles, Mabel, and Oliver.

With A-listers Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd guest starring with our favorite true-crime podcasters Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, Season 3 of this wicked, whacked-out whodunit (infant triplets as murder suspects!) spins ragged silliness into comic gold.
Only Murders in the Building is a trifle. Each episode is a mere 30 minutes or so and largely given over to scenes in which Martin and Short bounce off one another. But it’s a bonbon that goes down a treat and is packed with sugar-spun cameos.
As a writer, Martin has always exhibited eclectic tastes, and "Only Murders" reflects a playful extension of those sensibilities.
It won’t expand your mind or change your life, but it might temporarily lower your blood pressure a few points.
“Only Murders in the Building” doesn’t have a particularly sharp bite. It’s more silly than funny. But it takes the time to build its characters, and to place their obsession in a cultural context.
I watched cuz i like steve martin and mart short. It is an amusing story with some very funny moments (i loved the passive aggresdive exchange btwn the the m. Short character and the president of the apartment abot his late fees). BUT i personally do not like the very slow pacing. Basically, they are takingvthe time to give bak story for character development. This will not appeal to somebody that wants to get into the mystery clues right away. I wstched 3 episodes and probably will NOT continue. I admit tho, once we kno the characters there might be a very big enhanced payoff. But not gonna invest that much time. However, it might appeal to ppl that like the leisurely detective pace and want to really digest the dialogue.

an ok comedy. i was never fully convinced by the cast and to be honest, the best moments were not even thanks to the main characters.

I love selena gomez but her acting post wizards of Waverly place has been consistently horrible, rigid and bland. She fails to portray a character but instead just reads her lines. The mystery is awfully predictable and their dynamic doesn't intrest me in anyway.

So close to being amazing! But then episode 8... You used a character we had no emotional investment in to reveal all the secrets resulting in an anti-climatic ending. Our amazing lead characters didn't earn the info, didn't sacrifice for it, and therefore it feels unearned and unsatisfying. This show was so close to being amazing that we didn't even notice all the woke you slid in. That's how good this show WAS but now, I have no reason to watch the last episode.
