I rate this at the top of the worst series finales of all time. No real resolutions to the story, and the closed endings we did get were entirely unsatisfying.

The finale is the worst written one, in recent TV times and stands aside with some of the elite finale mess-ups.

The series was in line with characters/timeline until this BS finale. Nothing adds up in the finale

Wow, what an unsatisfying ending. Putting the incoherent and impossible plot aside, all the half-interesting characters lose and the ones you hate win. I saw where it was going and kept hoping for some kind of twist, but no they actually went through with the worst possible ending.

Not since the final season of Game of Thrones have I been so disappointed and disgusted with the laziness that went into concluding the show. Seriously, had I known this is how this show ends, I wouldn't watch it just like Game of Thrones ending with Bran on the throne. This is trash tier writing. Netflix is finished.

Has always been the Dollar General version of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, and the last 7 eps are no exception. It's Ozark. You'll like it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A lot of people are upset at this ending, but the overall message is that it’s the rich and powerful who survive every hurdle thrown their way while the poor and middle class suffer. The Byrde family completely fell to the dark side and without Ruth as Marty’s moral compass, he now is fully submerged as well. Their escapades literally eliminated an entire familial line in the Langmore’s, yet all of them survive because of their money, influence, and power. I was still surprised as the season was setting them up for a downfall one way or another, especially Windy, but the rug was pulled in the last 20 minutes. Great ending! Expand

Wish we had another season because I think it would have allowed the story to reach a more satisfying end. I mean, this second part of the fourth one felt somewhat rushed, and some things didn't make sense, like the car crash thing being kind of irrelevant. There goes one of Netflix's best series. Expand

By the time I reached the finale, I had already run out of all faith in the show. The characters behave nothing like themselves this season and change personalities on a whim. All of their nuances are gone. New characters are introduced left and right without any character development at all. Everyone seems to have short memory loss. The writing is just really REALLY lazy. The final episodes were — and here’s where I add a second spoiler alert — just awful. Everything that kept me from really bonding with the series about a family breaking bad was on display in those last hours.

Season four part two offers plenty of reminders about what made this show work really well for a little while. Ozark might not be getting out clean. But it isn’t overstaying its welcome either.

In a 70-minute finale, once again directed by Bateman, the series manages to wrap up every loose narrative thread, without ever crowbarring in senseless endings for the sake of it.
