It's already settled into a formula four episodes in, and it's got a very Jessica Fletcher feel to it (Charlie Cale just happens to be around when someone is murdered each episode so she can solve it) but it's also very entertaining. The structure is fascinating and fun - the first half of each episode showing the planning and execution of the murder with Charlie absent, the second retelling the story with her involvement added as she solves the crime - but I can see it getting tiresome after time. It will be fascinating to see if the structure mutates and evolves. In the meantime, I'm enjoying it very much.… Expand

Right, the Woke Columbo. I guess this is what the world needs right now.

It's actually a quite nice slice of Americana with the pacifist Gulf War veterans, Buddhist female truck drivers of Vietnamese decent and bad, bad MAGA dogs. If you don't take it too seriously you may even enjoy it.Right, the Woke Columbo. I guess this is what the world needs right now.

Critics (American ones): 85! For a telegraphed plot, stereotypes galore and so-called A-listers mailing it in, or playing themselves (as in the case of Lyonne).

'Mericans, we love you and need you even though you are a bunch of quasi-illiterate and uneducated morons who think they know better, more "awake", than anyone else. The only problem is that you inundate us (the rest) with mediocre streaming TV nonsense that is killing the creativity of far superior cultures than yours.
Case in point: All Quiet On The Western Front. You trivialize, bastardize and oversimplify a superior work of art to fit a manichean worldview that only satisfy 7 years old....or a TikTok generation. Happy Year of The Rabbit.… Expand
