Based on the six episodes Cinemax sent out for review in advance of Friday night’s premiere, it’s in many ways the Strike Back fans knew and loved the first time out. ... At the same time, the whole thing feels a bit thinner and more formulaic than the previous incarnation. ... It so far feels only as good as it needs to be, which is a step down from what the prior incarnation showed it could do.

May 2, 2019This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Looking back at this season, it has been nothing else but chaos, and just plain old shoot at everything that moves. The story that ended, in the fourth season, with Stonebridge and Scott, was gone. And still is. Altough you will find them again starting at episode 10, the new section 20, has no personal story, no viewable characters like the past seasons. Only the tip top of the iceberg is seen. While season 1 through 4 went deep in the characters one by one, and took their time. This is why I would rate it a 3, due to the lack of character close-ups and personalities of complete different origins… Full Review »
