Brilliant second season. [24 Jul - 13 Aug 2023, p.4]
The series isn’t a fluke. It’s as good as we thought it was last year and, maybe, even a little bit better. When you see the fulcrum at home, you’ll understand what pokes “The Bear.” In a word, it’s phenomenal. And the series is, too. It proves “every second counts.”

I can cry! This show is so freaking good. Chaos, sad, happy. Jerem Allen showed all his emotions with his eyes. Ebonn Moss acting was so natural I could swear he is that way in real life. I didn’t like Sydney ( ugh ) and loved needy Blair’s but you need those character to appreciate the show. Great season ending, great acting, direction and cast. Can we buy the bear gear?

This is a newer, polished season. It is one that, like the eponymous new restaurant, has evolved past its rougher beginnings to turn out another course that leaves us hungry for more.
On another level, the second season — which gets better with each new episode — explores the characters who established themselves last year, with some episodes focusing almost solely on a specific member of the ensemble.
While The Bear still feels as kinetic and stressful as its award-winning first season, and Carmy is still very much at the center, the series does itself a massive favor by shifting gears in Season 2.
Even though Season 2 of The Bear isn’t as frantic as Season 1, we get to know everyone at the restaurant better this season. And the second season is shaping up to be funnier than the first.
While “The Bear” may not be one of the best shows in the world, its own act of service is appreciated. Storer and Calo invite us into a fast-paced, high-risk world, hoping to entertain us; hoping we can empathize with those living in it; hoping their gesture is more than just a piece of filler in TV’s content machine. And it is, for those who enjoy a little heat.
One of the best tv shows in the last 2-3 years. Both seasons, magnificent.

Sometimes the show shines. But more often than not, the dialogue is cringeworthy, and the drama feels painfully forced and over the top. It's a frustrating watch! Almost everything related to running a restaurant is presented in a fun, visceral, and captivating manner. But the family dynamics and existential themes? Not so much.
