Overall the Show is a 6/10 for me. Episode 3 destroyed to much with that Trash and Episode 6 destroyed the build up for the relationship between Joel & Ellie. So i can give it only a 6/10.
Don't make Season 2 because NOBODY want's Abby or that usless Stuff from the second Game again. Would be a waste of Time and i would give it 0/10 already after 5 Min's when Abby shows up. They did

Don't make Season 2 because NOBODY want's Abby or that usless Stuff from the second Game again. Would be a waste of Time and i would give it 0/10 already after 5 Min's when Abby shows up. They did already enough damage to that Francise with the Game, don't try it again with that disgusting Plot that a 5 Year old wrote for a TV-Show. The second Game was trash, Abby was trash, all her Friends where trash and even Ellie was trash. DON'T DO THAT HBO or ND and let that Stuff where it belongs to: In the Garbage can to rot. For that Show or Season a 6/10 like i said. Without Ep3 and 6 i would be a 8/10 for me. But Episode 3 was so stupid i can't ignore that.
A second Season with Abby and Joels Death would be nothing more then Episode 3 but every Week.

This world would never fail to entertain or keep the viewer at the edge of their seat, but sadly, the creators undermine their own story's wonderful premise by failing to keep a proper pace, losing opportunities for action and emotional sequences, and, worst of all, choosing to cater to the hypocritical and nefarious political agenda of our time: woke intersectionalism.

I'm sure you understand the need for equal opportunity and the eradication of prejudice; these are lofty goals that would help advance mankind towards a happier, more prosperous future. However, in modern Hollywood's case, the ends do not justify the means. A resentful industry, bent on presenting a façade of righteousness thru a "holier than thou attitude" cannot possibly advance the cause of impartiality when its true agenda is to receive lavish praise and large monetary gain at the cost of integrity.

"The Last of Us" television series portrays the original computer game's heroic, Caucasian protagonist as a dead-beat dad with little spine or decision making ability. It further chooses to cast every authority figure in the show as a woman. This would be fine in any previous era of media except our current, in which disparaging men, especially white men, has become commonplace. There is absolutely no justification for this racist and sexist objective; it is based on hate and long held bitterness that betrays the mental illness of its production instead of providing a captivating story with a moral to it.

To further complicate the matter, Mazin and Druckmann fail to understand the simpler points of proper pacing, plot and script writing. The first episode meanders without a clear trajectory, completely skipping over a bombing (presented without any clear goal) as well as a bloody attack on the Fireflies, and choosing, instead, to highlight less compelling moments in the protagonist's lives, doing so without providing momentum or fostering concern in the viewer. The result is a significant loss of opportunity in terms of action in the show, and a massive loss of character development and presentation.

The end result is that the show becomes background television fodder, unworthy of a true attention span, unable to hold active interest in its viewer, and instead devolving into a pathetic vehicle to a narcissistic political rhetoric. Only time will tell if the next episodes will be able to overcome these massive shortcomings, but I wouldn't hold me breath, if I were you.

Episode 1 was a great start for the series, a lot of little Easter eggs for fans of the game such as Sara’s shirt Joel’s guitar and the soccer team pictures, Ellie wore Nathan drakes shirt from uncharted, it was a game accurate episode with some slight changes. They gave little more story with Sara which was welcome, we get more backstory of the fungus and how it’s a little different from the games which I personally love the addition.

    Episode 2
Probably the best episode so far, here we see another addition to the fungus in the fact that all the infected are connected, we also get a glimpse into Indonesia and how they handled the spread of the fungus. The clicker scene was amazingly well shot, Tess death scene was controversial but honestly is better than the game in my opinion.

Episode 3 By far the worst episode, look I know what you’re thinking, “you just don’t like gay people”. But that has nothing to do with why I hated this episode. I went in knowing that there would be some background into bill and Frank and I was fine with that. But how it was executed was god awful. Bill is my favorite side character in the last of us game, his interactions with Joel and Ellie are some of the funniest moments in the game, his battle hardened survival mentality doesn’t let him trust people, not even joel. When joel convinces bill to help them find a working vehicle he reluctantly agrees because he owes joel a favor. The three go on a mission through the town avoiding traps and killing a bunch of zombies. This is where we see the first bloater, Bill Joel and Ellie encounter the bloater in a school gym and are forced to fight it to move on safely. This would have worked so well for the show. They skipped out on one of the best parts of the game in order to tell a love story that didn’t even matter in the game, in fact in the game it’s revealed that Frank actually grew to hate Bill before he killed himself, it was not this plushy romantic softy love story like the show suggests.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's satisfying to see an Exceptional game like THE LAST OF US on TV. Played the first game and it's one of my personal favorites, and many people also rate it highly. In the first episode, I came away with mixed feelings some good and some not so good from what I saw. The big positive is Pedro pascal he's a great Joel and I hope we can see him get better. I like how they set up the world and made it such a miserable cold place and Pedro is great at conveying the hell he lives in on a daily basis. Some shots from the tv show will never live up to the game because you are in a third-person view watching this hell occur around these people and I prefer that to the television, but that's one of the practicalities of playing a video game vs a TV show. Sarah the daughter of Joel is played by an 18-year-old actress and despite them trying to make her young she's not the sweet innocent girl we get in the game, The TV show version has more of a teenage attitude and that's a big downgrade from the original work. In the scene where Sarah dies it didn't feel the same despite the acting being great from both, especially Pascal OMG he really is this show's ace. Now Ellie...... jury is still out on her. The actress who plays her started coming off as aggressive as hell right out of the gate and my impression of Ellie in the games upon meeting her was of a girl that was more reserved trying to not show her hand or reveal too much about herself because people come and go. They made her more snarky which sucks, I hope she's not this off-putting in the rest of the show because that's a big blow to the dynamic and anyone's viewing experience if she continues. Also, the relationship between Marlene and Ellie was just crammed in there to fill up space I'd rather they not even show them together until they met Joel because they had no reason to even care for each other, just keep it vague. Also, we didn't get a lot of action this week, hoping we get some great fight scenes and shootouts later but so far nothing. I'll be watching Next week and hopefully, it gets better, I wanna like this more than I do because I love the first game, but these are my feeling so far. Expand

Compared to the other dystopian shows out there, this is clearly in the "Walking Dead" camp, not the much higher "Station Eleven" category. All the tropes are in there. TWD 's nihilism was very refreshing and poignant back in the days (season 2 and 3). Besides it is inferior to the "Girl with all the Gifts" which has the exact same plot.

Miscast. Weird details just to stretch the episode. Nothing special, but it’s not awful at the same time. Maybe some day people these show creators will find out that people who loved the original story want to see something similar both in terms of characters AND setting with visuals. Not just the second thing.

    3. plane crash was EPIC!! better than the game scene.
    4. Sarah was a good character but not perfect.
    5. marlene was excellent

    Cons:
First half was great but 20 years later it got boring, and the budget gets reduced.
Tess isn't the Tess from the game, she is more like a drugo/drinker personality and not the leader like the game. Ellie may grow on me but the moment she swears is a cringe moment. I'm not sure on eille. Joel doesn't try hard enough with his accent, but he is a good actor but not a joel.

The death scene of Sarah was needing to be longer and more emotional with words etc and again Sarah is to old for the role.

The jump scare in the second half was silly and not scary lol. I hope it gets better and again the first half was 10/10 then 20 years later scene was lame/boring except for Marlene.

But sadly like everything these days, it is cheapened by actors who do not match the character, thanks to forced diversity. Joel, Sarah and Tommy look like they are from three different continents! They are related by blood! At least cast people who look a bit alike if they are to be brothers, daughters, etc. Pedro tries his best, but he is not able to pull off Joel with conviction. And Bella Ramsey is simply not right for the role of Ellie. She was overacting in almost all her scenes. They really should have cast actors based on their acting skills instead of popularity.

Another concern is the story. Beneath the glossy high budget HBO production, this is still the same old zombie tale. And video games in general aren't made to translate well to tv/movies.
Whether they can keep it interesting or it fizzles out into another bland tv show without any substance, remains to be seen.

The show makes many unnecessary changes from the game. Clearly it is agenda driven and woke in many respects. Also what bothers me is that they didn't have 2 major showdowns with the clickers that were in the game, (likely to save on production costs), instead you get 2 filler episodes that don't really advance the plot at all...

The Last of Us takes up the mantle The Walking Dead set down long before it left the air, picking up where that show left off instead of attempting to trod its well-worn path. ... The Last of Us operates entirely differently, keeping the action centered on Joel and Ellie throughout the main story, and providing side characters with flashback spin-offs. The show’s rough-hewn center is the surrogate father-daughter bond between Joel and Ellie, but the series works best as an anthropological travelogue of post-catastrophe subcultures, teasing out the disparate ways that survivors rebuild mini-societies and create new alignments of power.
