There isn’t a weak link in The Morning Show. Aniston is flawless. ... Everyone else – especially Billy Crudup as the network suit playing seven-dimensional chess with everyone – matches her point for point. The script has depth and endless torque and the whole thing is an exhilarating rush that makes room for nuance, thought and – though it’s definitely a drama – humour.
About four episodes into the new season of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, I stopped expecting it to have the qualities of a prestige television series—narrative complexity, emotional resonance, logic—and began simply appreciating it for what it is: one of the most batshit-expensive soap operas ever made. ... If you can meet The Morning Show on those terms, its second season is quite a ride. ... The Morning Show is camp: earnest, schlocky, nonsensical drama that’s not ruined by its excess and ridiculousness, but redeemed by it.

The West Wing meets Newsroom. Possibly one of the best series I've ever seen. The acting is phenomenal, the script is razor sharp and the production value astronomical. I can't comprehend how this show hasn't become The Next Big Thing, because it absolutely deserves to be.

“The Morning Show” offers engaging, soapy elements with a layer of resonant, semi-believable corporate politics on top.
To join top-tier dramas, as opposed to just a breezy diversion, it needs to be smarter about fighting the battles that it does.
The second season of “The Morning Show” largely segments its cast into individual subplots (perhaps because of pandemic filming) and the result is a season that feels fragmented and lacks the confidence of the best of the first.
“The Morning Show” tries to be many things—camp comedy, workplace drama, and hard-hitting treatise on the wobbly intersection of politics and show business. The trouble is that each of those conflicting modes collide at any given moment, so you’re never sure what side of the line the writers and performers are on.
Three episodes in, the women of “The Morning Show” are islands even as co-anchors, and for no reason more compelling than that the plot has said so.
i enjoyed the references to covid and thought that the season would improve after a very thin first - but then two episodes in particular sent the series crashing: the visit to italy episode was without any purpose other than for ms. aniston to take over. and again in the final episode, ms. aniston again overwhelmed the series in what can only be said to be an endless emmy-focused monologue that must have left the writers gagging - it certainly left me doing the same.
