Perhaps there will be welcome surprises in store. For now, though, The Walking Dead continues to look like a series that has bitten off more than it can chew.
The Walking Dead season 10 isn’t immune to the series’ trademark slogginess. This show is still a huge ensemble where far too much of that ensemble has the same issues, and they will be discussing them for several scenes at a time. But there’s no denying season 10 zips with an energy this world hasn’t felt in a long time. On a show this bleak, glimpses of hope like that can go a long way.
This season is great, I loved the new places, the creepy enemies, the problems our heroes encounter, and all the mysteries and how the unravel, I'm looking at it as a book, trying to mesh all the plots as if episodes were chapters, and it is great. I don't remember being in the edge of my sit watching TWD, I have yelled, cried, and laughed, I love this characters and this is a story to remember. Also remember is a horror series, thry all drags at times, but is the pace of the story that makes it thrilling, yes we miss some great characters, but we have some new ones, somewhat annoying but remember Rick's wife Lori? Or Dale? Andrea, Gregory, The Saviors, but the story is more compelling this way, it is awesome all around, and while it has highs and lows so does life, so, just enjoy an impossible world of walking dead.
Overall an amazing season so far, one of the strongest. The new enemies and the situations that the characters have to overcome will keep you at the edge of your seat. Love it!
Season 10 spends its time exacting revenge, and it works on almost all the right levels. With the exception of a few last-minute filler episodes, this season nails the board when it comes to unique writing. And not to mention the origin story we've all been waiting for.
Many ups and downs as expected. The show usually has this problem. They deliver well sometimes, but screw it up with pointless, time-wasting episodes. Overall a pretty average season, but still not as bad as season 8.
Now onto the episode we waited 6 months for. 6 MONTHS for a cliffhanger. After so much build up, we get given the middle finger right at the end. The rest of the episode wasn't particular interesting either, Beta is dealt with as expected, but I don't really care. He wasn't a villain that was very interesting anyway. But if I said I was expecting a great episode, I would be lying anyway. Thankfully the next season will be the last.
I don't know what happened to this show. Season 1 was brilliant, seasons 2 through 6 were great, and while 7 and 8 dragged on a bit they were still pretty darn good. Even the early episodes of season 9 were good, considering they made a fatal error in killing off one main character and losing two more.
I just tried to watch season 10 after taking a good long breather from the show, and came back to find an absolute pile of dog dooty. I'm not even certain how AMC can justify renewing this hot pile of garbage - unless of course it's the only IP they have with any value whatsoever, but even then they've clearly already milked it for all its worth. I'm thankful to not be invested in it anymore so its easy to just shut it off at this point and completely forget about it. Utter tripe.
