The twists are so wild that it would only make sense if this were scripted, but you have to remind yourself this isn’t a reality show. It’s very much a documentary. Only now, it’s about what the audience wants just as much as what it captures within these new celebrities.
Exotic is in prison, so there are no fresh shots of him with his snaggly grin and straggly mane. Episode one gets round this by delving into his early life. ... The last two instalments return to Joe Exotic, and whether his conviction for conspiring to murder Baskin is sound.

If you liked the first season this is worth watching, it's not as good but it was entertaining enough that I binged it in one go. I don't understand the hate personally, I enjoyed it.

In a world where everyone lies, it’s hard to believe anything anyone says. It makes for a confusing, complicated and ultimately exhausting watch.
The Joe Exotic of Tiger King 2 is a much-reduced figure in prison overalls. We only see him sporadically on grainy footage talking to camera over a prison phone.
The Tiger King sequel is a frustrating mess, with none of the gripping storytelling that made the original run such a guilty pleasure.
The timing of "Tiger King's" initial release in March of 2020, in hindsight, couldn't have been better. The timing now feels like a bit of a snooze. Assuming that counts as the concept's second life, let's hope nobody's planning on seven more.
Somehow, they stretch it to five episodes, going over the death of Carole’s second husband, Don Lewis, whom Joe and his crew suspect was murdered by Baskin, and looking at what Jeff Lowe, who took over the park after Joe’s imprisonment, has done with the business. It’s all icky.
I know everyone is saying it’s bad and we already know all the stuff they talk about but those people also say they couldn’t finish the second episode, you should watch the whole show before judging because there are some plot twists. Take a look at breaking bad in season 4 a whole episode is just them trying to kill a fly and that didn’t get any bad reviews, Because if you power through the boring episodes you get to the juicy episodes.

Couldn't finish it. The first episode, albeit largely boring, is probably worth a view for a few scattered reasons, one of which being an examination of Exotic's cop stripping days. But after that, it becomes clear it's merely an empty cash grab with nothing to show for itself. It's sloppy, unfocused, vapid, and patently desperate. Netflix's American productions have been frankly well below the bar for of kind of a while now.
