Happily, "Weeds" hasn't dropped a petal or missed even a beat this season.
  2. 90
This is damn fertile soil for a comedy, and creator Jenji Kohan and the writers of "Weeds" farm it for all it's worth in the show's second season, cultivating vivid, surprising stories that naturally transcend the typical limitations of the half-hour format.
  3. 80
Thankfully, "Weeds" avoids the strained farce of "Desperate Housewives," and despite being billed as a comedy, the perceptively written show is actually a credible look at lives stuck in neutral and people almost trapped by their addiction to a certain level of upper-middle class comfort.

The best thing from Season 1 remains the same: Mary-Louise Parker. [21 Aug 2006, p.37]
  5. It's perhaps appropriate to the subject matter that the show's main appeal is sensual rather than cerebral, grounded in a host of superb performances.
  6. "Weeds' " executive producers, headed by creator Jenji Kohan, get kudos for keeping the show's balance of heartfelt drama and screwy comedy intact.

In better moments, "Weeds" proves small kerflops can be made interesting and fun to watch. In lesser moments, not so.

One of the best seasons of television I have ever seen. Great cast, well-written characters, lots of laugh out loud moments and genuinely engaging storylines all the way through. Expand

Fantastic show. It's fantasy, people. And the mother is headed for a bad end...

Season 2 was much better than season 1, but then again, a show has to have it's time to get going... to tell it's back story... to set up plots. I thought season one was pretty good and wanted to give this show a chance. I'm glad I did. Expand

This show sucks. I rented the DVD set b/c the premise sounded unique but it was dead boring (ie - L Word). I find that most showtime shows are just trying to be like HBO shows but fall way flat. This is no exception. If you get the premise of the show - suburban California mom selling weed then you know all you need to know. No matter how stoned you are this show will still bore you. I am perplexed at how this show has a significant following. Expand
