It's a fine little show, a teenage comedy that's bright, witty and filled with laughs and smiles high-school style, much more than one of those silly teen sitcoms that too often passes for series programming. It's slightly sexy, fun and funny, filled with the kind of personality that could turn it into a solid Saturday night hit. [3 Mar 1994]

Surprisingly witty...Hardly great comedy, program still has spirit and Asher and Manasseri, who are good, developing comedians. [4 Mar 1994]

In turning the 1985 feature film of the same name into a sitcom, Weird Science has become stupider, and a bit more hateful.

This weekly version of the wish-fulfillment movie is astoundingly bad. [5 Mar 1994, p.5D]

If we judge just each single episode, many of them are fun, but the big issue is that there is no continuity at all, the 2 main charactersIf we judge just each single episode, many of them are fun, but the big issue is that there is no continuity at all, the 2 main characters always seem never to learn from lessons of each of the past episode, and I do not think there is any fellow female student character that has been more than 3 or 4 episodes, thus I have to give it a 3 in the review, I want to like it if I just judged each episode individually, but looking it as a whole, I must go low in the rating.
