Shadows' early episodes are chock full of quotable one-liners and majestically silly moments. ... I ended up watching the series premiere three times… and still found myself laughing the third time through.
What I do know is that Shadows, the series, is FUNNY —often deadpan, sometimes quietly droll, sometimes howl-at-the-moon hilarious.

A classic and of the best comedy series made in years. In the same vain as the movie, this mockumentary comedy is filled to the brim with unforgettable one-liners and scenes, and highlights the talents of Clement and Waitit as two of finest comedic talents of their generation.

SEASON 1
Darkest black humor, with a good dose of irony and a few buckets of blood and splatter... What more can you ask ? I loved the film and was skeptical about the show, but for once, TV writing kept up with the previous standards (and in some cases it is even better). Excellent work

Shadows thrives on characters and droll dialogue more than story. In fact, what gives the show an edge over the movie is the addition of an instantly familiar new species: an “energy vampire” who drains his victims of life force without so much as breaking their skin.
What We Do in the Shadows is one of those conceptual comedies with a limited premise that you expect to die off at any moment, but it keeps coming as though it doesn't know how to die.
The four lead vampires feed on pretense and find laughs in something as simple as hissing. But it’s Guillen and Feldstein who bring the spice.
There’s a lot to admire in the opening episodes, and the potential within each only drives more excitement for the next.
There are lots of laughs at the start, but, four episodes in, the show loses some of its liveliness (for lack of a better word), risking the comedy equivalent of rigor mortis. The performances and guest cameos are just enough to pass the test.
Fantastic first season that adapts the source material well( a daunting feat considering the skill of the movie. This unexplained vampire documentary is kept in place by amazing performances, weird story directions and solid writing. The only fault is just how slowly it comes into itself but otherwise it's deserves a seat amongst other stunning debut seasons such as the walking dead or fleabag.

I was a massive fan of the movie and was incredibly hesitant to watch this show, season 1 is fantastic and the show continues to get better. The main vampires are all fantastic in their own rights, Colin Robinson-centric episodes are fantastic, but there's really never a terrible episode.

One of the funniest new shows I've seen in ages. It's pitch-perfect, and brings a little something for everybody. Great stuff. REALLY hope it gets renewed.
