The dialogue ripples with sly and subtle references to plays and immortal lines our young country bumpkin will create in future years. ... [Laurie] Davidson is magnetic. You watch this guy with near certainty that you’re watching a new star. But his is only one of several extraordinary performances.
Will is as sensual as it is suspenseful, as bawdy as it is bloody, as lusty as it it is lyrical.

One of the more interesting shows to debut last fall. Nice premise, good cast of actors, great dialogue, nice touch to add contemporary music and make it more accessible. It's unfortunate that the show did not catch on, but then again t.v. execs have short attention spans just like audiences sometimes. If it does not grab them in that 30 second allotment, well too bad. Let's hope some far reaching network like Amazon or Hulu decides to pick it up...!!

This show is bloody brilliant and all you **** wads who think otherwise can **** my bedazzled jewels. I am a sobbing mess because of this show and if thats not what makes a good show then i don't know what is. Coz y'all are completely ignorant, this show won't get a season 2 and I am left with my suffering. Thanks. This shows the best thing I've ever seen in a while, frikin watch it u insolents.

It’s also a lot of fun, lively and fast-paced, with comedy, tragedy, action and history, just as audiences of 1589, and today, demand.
Will is fun, like a supercharged “Shakespeare in Love,” but the regalia, pacing, and dazzling colors often seem like compensations for a somewhat obvious and awkwardly expository script.
As long as Will is having lively fun with the absurdity of its premise, the show is entertainingly dumb, but by the third and fourth episodes sent to critics, that commitment has lapsed into something much blander.
These opening episodes of Will heave with style at the expense of soul or substance. The real tension of the overall plot doesn’t kick in until the fourth episode, but before that the audience isn’t presented much to hang onto besides a surge of dirty, pretty visuals--and those baubles can only carry a story so far.
It's chaotic, sometimes almost incoherent. Wildly inconsistent, it veers from dark drama to lighthearted fun.
It's not your English teacher's Shakespeare, and that's a good thing. Think "A Knight's Tale" but with Shakespeare instead - totally anachronistic, historically pseudo-accurate (big history points - yes, details - no), but fun and engaging. A good summer viewing pleasure.

SEASON 1
'Will' is surprisingly colorful and has great taste for a comedy-drama mix. It evokes some Shakespeare in Love vibes which seems refreshing for a TV adaptation.

After almost 20 years since 'Shakespeare In Love', you would think they could make something as good, or even better about Shakespeare. Think again. This show is really disappointing.
