The new episodes ... are more of the same enthusiastically entertaining adventures we've come to expect from [Wynonna Earp]. And they're coming at exactly the right time.
Some of the monsters may be a little hokey and feels like old-school Syfy, and there are more than a few gross-out moments in the first few episodes. But that’s also part of the show’s elemental charm. The bad guys and shadowy organizations and the lore are all secondary to these bright, charming characters, whose whip-smart conversations and asides make rewatching a reward.

An exciting show with an intriguing storyline. Great work of the actors. I love this show.

The premiere episode jumps into the action and atmosphere immediately, though it takes a little while for the show settle in to what is a very fast-paced story. But by the second episode, it’s already found its rhythm.
It’s all a bit fuzzy, but then it’s all in good fun. Television has plenty of room for strong female characters.
If it all sounds a little by-the-numbers, it is. But part of the fun of both Westerns and pulp revenge stories is setting up the tropes to play with them later, so Wynonna Earp could just be getting a few things out of the way before the shenanigans really get started.
With the important caveat that Wynonna Earp, premiering on Syfy on Friday (April 1), isn't as sharp, funny, thematically rich and consistently well-cast as Buffy was even in its bumpy opening season, there are enough elements in common to justify a tenuous comparison and enough small pleasures to encourage continued viewing.
It’s good television, not great. The plot is immensely confusing at times. Is it about Revenants or the Black Badge Division or Bulshar or Valdez or cults or the weird tarot card/Garden of Eden storyline? The characters are loveable enough to distract me from this. At times, it’s funny. I think it’s trying too hard to be funny though.

A carefully sanitized (politically correct) show about demons who are supposed to be evil, but they just want to drive motorcycles and drink bear. Wynonna is that buzz kill who sends them back to hell for having a good time. Painfully went through season 1 and still have no clue who the "good guys" are. Everyone on the "protagonist team" hates each other and tries to betray each other. The acting appears to be semi improv where they're given lines, then the director spikes each actor's drink with LSD, Molly, cocaine or mushroom. Then one random actor is left sober wondering what the hell is going on. Filming continues until all the actors freak out and hide under a random table. I feel like this show is just a live action carebears where there's no true badguy and everyone is just an ****
