Jan 2, 2020There were too many plot holes. Good ideas not well executed, all over the place and disconnected to each other. Ellipsis here and that. Season 1 was cohesive and tight. This was absurd, made for a teenage audience or for an easy target.

Apr 4, 2020So so so so very bad. An insult to the intelligence in its bizarre plot (humans don't behave like this, unless its maybe humans who've been through highly damaging brain surgery that took out their frontal lobes). It really stretches credulity that anyone could find the main character charming, and there are just far too many outstandingly gross masturbation scenes.

Jun 1, 2020I adored the first season, and this one was really great too with more of a focus on romantic dark crime. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Dec 19, 2021It's sophomore season is it's most comfortable. Channelling so much of early season "Dexter". Grown into it's humour and black comedy. The stakes are at their highest and the phenomenal conclusive plotwist is just good television.

By the bloody end, with twists I promise you won't see coming, Joe has a new appreciation for the insanity of this thing called love. [6-19 Jan 2020, p.9]

Rivetingly told and well acted, YOU manages to make a viscerally unlikable protagonist endlessly interesting. That is no small achievement.

In some respects, You just feels like one of the CW shows that Berlanti produces -- just really sharply executed, with a densely serialized edge.
