As aOkay, I gotta be honest: I like superhero movies and I could say this movie was amazing, but I like to review movies as real movies. As a "real" movie, Infinity War is pretty competent: The direction is nice, the cinematography is decent, the visual efects are amazing, it has some fun moments, exciting action sequences and something that until this movie came out, no other MCU movie really had: Tension and real danger and those two aspects made the movie really interesting and kept me invested throughout the whole movie.
There's almost zero character development, I feel like this movie had almost the same problems as Age Of Ultron: Too many characters and barely any screentime and dialogue for a lot of them, but what makes this movie not as underwhelming as Age Of Ultron is that this is basically a movie about Thanos and his journey of getting what he wants. Thanos is an example of how to make a good movie villain: He's intimidating, he's well written, he has a clear motivation that makes sense and never yells cliché dialogue or wants to destroy the universe "just cause".
Overall I really liked this movie, I liked the fact that it was a movie that finally took risks and didn't just played it safe once more.… Expand

Is this a superior sequel? I don't think so, there's almost zero character development for anyone and this is kind of understandable as every character including Thanos is already developed. There are so, SO many characters and there are a lot that barely had any screentime or dialogue.
However, this isn't a bad movie, as a movie it is really competent: It has good direction, the cinematography is decent, the visual effects as expected are great and it also has good action sequences, it has some funny moments although not as many as usual and while it's 3 hours long, it is never boring, it's pretty entertaining. If you are a superhero movie fan, specially a Marvel fan this is a must-see, it's filled with tons of references and fan service and it will have tons of moments that will make you want to clap of excitement. This is a great finale for the franchise, but as a standalone movie is pretty lackluster, I feel like if you combine the two movies (this and Infinity War) into one, it could be a phenomenal 5 and a half hour long movie, this really needed to keep the "Infinity War Part 2" subtitle.… Expand

TheWhat seemed at first as an hour and a half ad for Lego toys actually turned out to be one of the best animated movies of the decade. The script is amazing filled with tons of really funny jokes, it's self-aware and it also has some satire about society and government. The twist is mindblowing, it made sense and was foreshadowed with subtetly and gives the movie a whole new meaning, making the ending so perfect and the message this movie gives to the audience is great. The characters are memorable and pretty well written and the animation is STUNNING, it looks like stop-motion but it's actually CGI.
This must be the best animated movie of 2014, it's infuriating to see that it didn't even get nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.… Expand

Judging it as a real movie: It's awful, but judging it as a "so-bad-it's good" movie, then it's pretty hilariously ridiculous. This is basically a live-action cartoon. A factory movie with nothing innovative or creative at all. Characters? This movie had characters? Dwayne Johnson is Dwayne Johnson and he's playing a guy with a prosthesis and we're supposed to care for him and to be worried for him by that fact, but he is Dwayne Johnson, come on.
The plot is dumb and ridiculous, there are no stakes, no tension, nothing because we know that nobody will die and because the characters are poorly written and developed, I don't care about anything that happens.
Like I said this is a so bad it's good movie, you can watch it and make fun of the ridiculous action and make fun of how horrible the dialogue, characters and everything else of this movie.… Expand

It tells the shocking and heart-breaking story of how war affected psychologically the life of Marjane, the main character. The writing is phenomenal, the animation looks great, and I felt that the story sometimes didn't have a "focus" (I felt it was a little all over the place), but that's not a bad thing, it actually makes the plot pretty unpredictable and I liked that.
This is a fantastic movie, it's easily in my top 10 best animated movies of the 2000s decade. As for movies having similar themes and that I've seen so far, this is much better than The Breadwinner.… Expand

Regardless, I consider this a decent movie, it's not Disney's best work, but it's not a bad movie by any means. The plot is okay, the animation is not impressive but not bad (Even back when it was released I wasn't mind-blown by the animation) and the characters are likeable and have a good arc (The only character I didn't like was Olaf, he is an annoying comic relief).
The best thing of this movie is its music, the songs are amazing and some of the best and most memorable songs in any Disney movie ever, Let It Go is one of my favorite Disney songs ever.
Overall, this is a fine movie, but don't expect to get anything from it other than entertainment and wonderful songs.… Expand

The quality of the story and the script is in the level of some of Disney's or Pixar's best work: It's funny, it's emotional, it's heartwarming. I liked the artstyle, it looks like illustrations from a children's book.
I know that the message this movie gives can be misinterpreted as "Stealing is okay as long as you're different", but while it's true and I know that this movie's message can be easily misinterpreted, I didn't see it that way, I see it as a story of how prejudice and stereotypes can be harmful for our society and how it affects our main characters. Maybe this is not a movie intended just for little children (I honestly think they will find this movie boring) and I guess that to see this movie you need to already know that stealing is obviously wrong, it seems like you expect animated movies have to teach kids things that parents must teach to them.
This is an amazing movie and it's a shame that a movie like Frozen won the Academy Award instead.… Expand

I'm going to talk about the best of this movie first and I'll begin with a big praise towards its WONDERFUL cinematrogtaphy and directing. All the shots in this movie are beautiful and the color palette adds to the intended mood of what the audience is watching. This is one of the most visually stunning movies I've seen in recent memory, I swear I could only rewatch it too see the beautiful shots this movie has. The performances are great and add to the realism this movie tries to give.
What this movie, for me at least, doesn't do that great, is everything else. The plot wasn't that great or interesting. The movie failed to make me care about the characters and the plot, because it wasn't too interesting. There's a huge plot hole between Chiron's adolescence and its adulthood, I don't know, maybe some more minutes of runtime to see what happened to him during that time gap, I think that could've added to his character, and most of the movie felt pretty standard and forgettable, nothing too bad, but anything great.
However the ending is so heartbreaking and perfect when you stop and think about it, the last shot of the movie is one of my favorites in recent memory, I think that the ending was what redeemed this movie.
This isn't my favorite movie of 2016 and it's not a great movie, it's good, the cinematography, acting, directing and the ending is what gives this movie a lot of points. It's a pretty bland and forgettable movie for the most part but those aspects I just mentioned are what save this movie from being bad.… Expand

TheThis is the bottom of the barrel for the Ice Age franchise. This once-loved animated franchise has lost all my respect with this movie. The first one is one of my favorite animated movies of all time and one of my favorite non-Disney or Pixar movies, the second one was okay, the third was mediocre at best, the fourth one was awful and this...I don't have words to describe.
They turned Ice Age into an Illumination kind of movie. The plot, the dialogue, the characters, everything is now dumbed down to appeal to stupid kids. You might say that that's the point (it's made for kids)but just like with Minions, Cars 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and all the Illumination movies, that's no excuse to make a movie that has zero artistic value and that treats kids like if they're stupid. Great animated movies for kids are those that both kids and adults can enjoy and get something from and this is not the case, this is a movie that was made for no other reason that to give BlueSky some money because Ice Age and Rio are their only profitable franchises, so, they need to keep making these movies even if it doesn't make any sense, right?
I don't give it a 0/10 because Scrat is in it and his scenes are the only ones that made me laugh.… Expand
