The aspects of games that are fun are the aspects that consist of the fun portions of real life without the tediousness of picking up a freaking jar or a box off of a desk or opening a cabinet to loot it ONE AT A TIME in the slowest loot animation on the planet.
I do not like not being able to RUN IN MY CAMP or being BOTHERED BY SOME NAGGING CHARACTER that slows me down further from just getting the hell out of there.
You wanna know why people haven't done what you have before? Because they came to the correction conclusion that too real, ISN'T FUN. You have taken aspects of many popular games that were successful and then added a tedious monotony thinking it would be fun and unique. Its not. Its slow, boring, and a waste of my time. You thought you were going to set the bar with a game by making it closer to REAL LIFE?! - REAL LIFE IS BORING!!
Your forcing me to be completely reliant upon my horses inventory is annoying. The inability to fast travel is annoying. The inability for your game to remember my weapon load out once I leave my horse is ... well.. just plain stupid.
Your open world is plain and its tired. This isn't new. None of its new. They didn't set the bar, they set an example that everyone before them already knew what not to do and, in their arrogance, thought they were being unique.
Oh, and the controls are clunky slow garbage.
Otherwise, Great game! - Hunting is fun - Story is interesting - Graphics are excellent.
Would not buy again.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.0Mar 23, 2019This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is absolutely terrible.
This is a 20$ game at a 40$ price tag. If you have any standards, stay away.
10 hours of game play! AT MOST
I LOVE Adventure time and their previous games. I DESPISE this game.
Enemy placement is a joke. You do more attacking of stationary objects to level your character than you do actual fighting. The voice acting is great, the script is terrible. The combat is amateurish. The art is jagged and looks like it was done by someone who knows JUST ENOUGH to get a 3D image to resemble the characters.
Seriously, what were these people thinking? Spoiler: As an example, at one point you have to progress through the banana guards to their commander and they are COMMANDED to stop attacking you. Half obey, the other half keep attacking you. This isn't some act of rebellion, this was a poorly thought out concept. This is so that you have mobs to keep attacking, BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE. That is an example that sets the tone for the rest of your experiences with this game.
Another example of how none of this makes sense. Marceline's axe is the only thing that can break metal chains that bind chests. Ok, ill buy that. However, she CANNOT cut open the wooden doors that are a barrier between you and a chest. These WOODEN barriers have computer chips as locks protecting chests with METAL CHAINS around them! Why? Because you need B-MO to open the digital lock...WHAT?! If the wood cannot be cut by an axe.. how the hell where the trees cut down to make the boards?! How where these boards made?! This illogical approach is prevalent throughout the ENTIRE GAME! WHY?! At least make doors metal! - NOPE - Screw you, we are going with axe proof wood with digital locks. Suck it.
This is an insult to fans. This is a terrible game that deserves zero praise for the amount of money that it costs you for the privilege of being absolutely livid at the amount of money you have wasted.
I will NEVER purchase a game by this developer again. They knew people would buy this as fans of the series, despite it being done by a bunch of high schoolers trying to push something out before the end of summer break.
Stay the hell away from this game. It isn't much of one.… Expand

For those of you giving either of those ratings, its for some other reason unrelated to the game. You are either a fanatic of From Soft who cannot objectively rate their game, or you are currently raging or just hate the game for not being exactly like souls.
So, Sekiro. If you took all the good parts out of Nioh ( The loot, outfits, customization, build system and weapon variety ) and no, the combat in Nioh wasn't that great. It was just a bad clone of Dark Souls. Then, you took all the good parts out of Dark Souls ( Solid combat system, the lore, variety of weapons, variety of armor, and a good build system )
Afterwards, you take whats left of both. For Dark Souls its the level designs(shortcuts etc) , the estus flasks, fire keepers, bonfires, and the feel of the cut scenes and art work. For Nioh its the forced item usage and similar art style. You take those aspects and shove them into one game with a garbage combat system that is not quite Dark Souls and not quite Nioh. A system that requires you to respond rather than be offensive. Combat is basically boiled down to a Press X for sweep attack, press L1 for parry, Press O to side step...and use prosthetic arm.
You do not get to choose the style of combat or how you will fight. Follow their style, or die. Do not think for yourself and respond how they want you to, or die.
Play how they want you to, or you are going to have a bad experience. If you are OK with that, then you will probably enjoy the game. I am not. it is not what I came to expect from From Soft.
I am severely disappointed in this game. I had looked forward to it for a long time and I only do that for a very few developers. Literally 2.
Oh well. I truly hope people find enjoyment in this game. It just is not fun for me, unfortunately.… Expand
