An action-packed, cross platform open world RPG. It excels with its fast, exhilarating action and attractive graphics, despite a weak storyline and unbalanced sound issues. The key to its future success lies in how well the character development and story are further refined.
I have played for 3 years Genshin and I got totally burnt out by Hoyoverse not giving a dawn about its players. You get little reward for loyalty, and the players' feedback were simply ignored, noticeably there is still no end-game after 4 years.
Kuro Game has already giving two 5 stars standard banner selectors, and has integrated players' feedback.
Wuthering Waves copies Genshin on gacha system and pity, world exploration and itemization, but the combats are more complex and diversified.
Overall Wuthering Waves is superior to Genshin.
Pretty fun open world gacha game, with a huge "Hoyoverse" vibe. It's like playing Genshin Impact but with Honkai Impact's combat system and Honkai Star Rail's MC.
Good points :
- Pretty graphics and character designs
- The combat system is very fun to play
- The echoes system is very interesting
- Good open world exploration with nice little puzzles
- Amazing climbing system / mobility, going back to Genshin after playing this is painful
- They give a lot of free characters at the beginning, even a 5 star character that you can choose
Bad points :
- The story and dialogues could have been better, some parts are just irrelevant
- Huge gap between 4 star characters and 5 star characters, I don't even want to play most of the 4 stars cause they're boring
- The english translation is a bit off sometimes, and the french translation is just awful
- VERY laggy. A lot of freeze and sound issues. I could barely play without lowering all my settings to almost the minimum. It's a shame to see that the game takes more time to load than a modded ARK Survival Evolved's save, knowing that that my PC can play ARK with high / ultra settings.
- I can barely remember how the game sounds, it's like the game is almost devoid of music / memorable music (even before the sound issues)
- A few glitches from time to time, not a big deal but still, would be better if they could fix them
Overall a pretty good game that I'll definitely keep playing if they fix the performance issues and glitches, as long as the story and characters can keep my interest.
Game doesn't run well, even though I got a decent PC. On phone, it's even worse. It makes the phone so hot it crashes sometimes. Also, there is an ABSURD amount of bugs in the game. Voice acting and the story narrative are among the worst I've seen in a game. Combat is great, but it's a shame it's locked behind what I would consider a "Walmart version" of a certain other gacha game. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but all the issues and the fact that the best part, that being combat is gated behind a putrid story and lack luster open world makes me not want to play it sadly. Also, RNG elements are terrible as well, worse than any other gacha I've played. Atleast the gacha aspect itself isn't that bad. But since the rest of the game is underwhelming looking past the unpolished state. Yeah, it saddens me to give it a low score since I wanted to like it but.... man...
Combat and exploration enthusiasts who can run the game will love it. Story enthusiasts will love the story starting at act 4, after we have the world building and tutorials out of the way.
SummaryWuthering Waves is a story-rich open-world game with a high degree of freedom.
You wake from your slumber as a Rover, greeted by an expansive new world filled with novel sights and newfangled tech.
