There isn't anything else to it. I'm very patient with films, but felt the urge to skip ahead since I simply didn't care about the main character, and there was no story progression. Full Review »

Certainly lacks the fun of "Almost Famous," especially since Toni Collette's rock 'n' roll writer is a sad sack who thinks her magazine (think Rolling Stone) owes her a living. Still, she, Thomas Haden Church and Oliver Platt are supremely likable and make it an OK story ... pursuing their own wacky paths that may or may not end up where you think. Full Review »

Jessica ChastainThis is a very well-acted film in which most of the (potential) action simmers below the surface. Not much happens, though. Jessica Chastain is stellar as always and Oscar Isaac is riveting ... it's a gritty, grimy set piece about gritty, grimy goings-on in the NYC of a few decades ago, but I would have liked more of a payoff. Tony's plan was incredibly stupid and villanous to begin with and Ultron's movies are something out of a dollar store. The visuals are great, and the story holds up in places, but after all the hype ... I just didn't find myself enjoying it at all. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. This movie tries really hard to be smart and brainy, but near half of it you realize: hey, I know this guy is everyone, it's a time travel movie, and he's the ultimate paradox, like every time travel movie since terminator. The small cast gives the movie an intimate tone, keeps you interested, but since you know what's going on, the movie doesn't matter anymore. The girl, Freya, Is a perfect 10. I don't know how she is not in bigger movies and roles. Full Review »
