    Pokedex 3D is not so much of a game as it is a guide/resource application for the Pokemon Black and White games for the Nintendo DS. You can gather information by daily downloads for by swapping data with others with this software installed on their 3DS and can do some fun and interesting AR and photo related things with the character models as well. Sure it is kinda bland, and its more of a encyclopedia software than a game but considering its completely free and absolutely optional to download, that is perfectly fine. If you are a fan of Pokemon, download it, if you are not a fan of Pokemon, don't download it, you aren't missing much one way or the other, simple as that.… Expand

    People reviewing this are simply getting it wrong: The Pokedex 3D isn't a game. Like its title says, it's a darn Pokedex. And a good one, at that. It offers great 3D models, a way to display them through augmented reality, a trade system with friends and some extra thingies.
    The 3D models are anti-aliased, showing off the 3DS' power.

    The only thing I don't like is the fact that the pokede    x only contains the pokemon from the new Gen 5 games. I think you can get pikachu as easter egg somehow though.… Expand

    For what it's worth though, this is a handy little tool with more information than you could possibly ask, and the fact that it's free just sweetens the deal. If you don't yet have it and you're a Pokémon fan, get it. Now.

    Pokédex 3D is a simple evolution of the Pokémon canon, perfect for every collector and player of the series. Its applications stream far beyond the series and have wider implications for the future of the console. Conceptually the Pokédex is an old idea but socially it could turn out to be exactly what the 3DS was designed for.
