In my opinion wrestling games are the best when theyre at their most ridiculous, it’s the reason here comes the pain and shut your mouth are some of my favorite wrestling games of all time so I had a lot of hopes with the one..
The models look crazy.. the finishers are insane…
But theres no ooprtunity to have fun here beyond an hr or 2
The best part of the game is the path of champions mode…
There are 3 different story lines with 10 matches each, for the undertaker, randy orton, and dx,
Complete with fully animated and fulyl voice acted cutscenes…
Why are these not part of every wwe game?
they were hilarious at times and saved this game from being just a mediocre arcade wrestling game…
They gave the game some personality…
and theres also a fantasy warfare mode that pits legend vs superstar in a dream match..
Such as the mz and mr perfect…
sure they stretched a little for these dream matches.. but this mode uses every last character in the roster.. so ill let it slide…
It’s a pretty cool mode with a well edited promo before each match…
You pick a side and play it out…
But the good of this game ends there….
    Match modes are limited….
the only specialty matches here are exture rules and a steel cage…
and neither of the 2 are interesting or fun…
and this game features hands down the least intuitive control scheme in a wrestling game period…
I get they wanted it to feel like a different game than the smackdown series.. the now 2k series…
But that’s no excuse for THQ to not just straight up copy themselves or at the very least put the option there to use that perfect scheme they’ve had since the 90s
I felt like I was bashing the shoulder pads more than the face buttons…
the button to pin and run are right next to eachother… you can imagine how many annoying moments that creates.. as well as the button for checking under the mat and climbing back in the ring are the same….
Running and irish whip are the same button…
I never got an irish whip.. the most common move for me in any other game other than by accident…
It really ruined the gameplay experience as I felt I was button mashing rather than picking and choosing my attacks…
Which brings me to the matches themselves..
This game is more about the ko than it is the pinfal… and you can only ko with a finisher…
You can pin but the computer kciks out 90% of the time no matter how hurt you have them…
And that’s if you can even get them to stay down… again this is more of an arcade fighter inside of a ring than it is your typical wrestling game… everything is fast paced and the match can turn on a dime…
I like the concept of WWE Allstars, all the craziest superstars with over the top ridiculous moves… make them look crazy… make them fly through the air from the simplest things like punches….
It sounds like the perfect party game…
But the unnecessary over complication of commands and lack of any fun modes hurt the game the most…
Its an arcade game.. if there was any time to experiment with crazy match ideas.. this was it.. and you missed your opportuniuty…
    I give WWE All Stars
    A 6.5/10

The character roster is a whopping 43 professional wrestlers from the past and present with all Downloadable Content characters from the console version already on the 3DS game card when you buy it. Audio for music and voice work is simply amazing in quality while sound effects are dynamic. Each professional wrestler has a specific class that identifies their strong and weak points. Brawlers are good at striking attacks but weak at grapple moves and submissions, Grapplers are good at grapple moves and submissions but weak at striking, Acrobats are fast and good at aerial attacks but low endurance, Big Men are Strong but lack speed and aerial talent. You can create your own wrestler if you wish but the editing options are rather limited overall. The game consists of five main game modes: Exhibition where you set up a match and its rules and play it (Standard, Tag, Cage, Extreme, Elimination, Score), Path of Champions where there are three short Story mode campaigns for the WWE Title (Randy Orton), World Heavyweight Title (Undertaker) and Tag Team Titles (Triple H and Shawn Micheals: Degeneration X), Fantasy Warfare where you can watch promo video packages and then pick sides and participate in a fantasy past versus present match, Local Play mutiplayer and finally Gauntlet where you run through 42 other superstars using one of your choice. There are some rare glitches such as enemy wrestlers getting stuck on corners, cage walls or a downed opponent until you hit them or the thing blocking their movement moves away in the case of a downed opponent, getting under the ring after falling off a cage or some visual errors in some intro and victory scenes for example. None of these glitches overly break the game in any way even though they usually give you an edge in matches if they occur and they only seem to occur to Artificial Intelligence controlled opponents as these have never happened to me when playing. Overall, if you are a fan of over the top arcade-like wrestling action, pick up this game, if you want something more like a wrestling simulation game with more emphasis on custom content and realistic gameplay, look up the yearly Smackdown Vs Raw Series / WWE Series of games. If wrestling games are not your forte, you should probably avoid this game. Collapse Expand

I realy like wrestling, it's all about over the top fun, and that's what this game brings to the 3DS.

The gameplay is fluid and changes a lot from each of the 4 classes of fighters (Brawler, Big Man, Grappler and Acrobat) and each character is different on his own way.

The downside is the bugs that usually occurs, like in the last match of the Undertaker campaign, after you beat him the game freezes, and you have to restart the 3DS and play the last match again (winning this time don't causes the freeze). The other problem is the lack of a online mode. For me, in a world that almost every place has a wi-fi connection, a portable game without wi-fi multiplayer is loosing a lot of potential, and that occurs with this game.

The game is good, fun. For me worth his price, i hope to see more efforts on 3DS of the WWE franchise, but this time with a wi-fi mode.

More content than the other versions, but at the hefty price of polish and reliability. [Feb 2012, p.97]

While WWE All Stars is certainly not perfect, it's probably one of the best handheld wrestling games available on a Nintendo platform.
