A solid contender for the title of the best new age arena style shooter.
Weird concept with little balls running around, shooting at eachother, but
other than that, solid fun, good weapons, nice mechanics and free to play.
Diabotical is one of the best fast paced first-person-shooters right now on the market. This game is inspired by QUAKE 3 Arena and it gets obvious real quick. It has an infinite skill ceiling, which makes it really fun to learn and get better in. It's free, you should try it out. It is one of the most polished indie shooters on the market with a bad player counts. If you are thinking about trying this game, I would recommend seeking out help for newbies since the current players are quite experienced.
Very good arena fps game. Fluid and responsive controls, runs well for most, super active devs, and no pay-to-win or FOMO bull... Tonnes of maps as well. Some original modes like Wipeout. Fast gameplay and verticality; it's what TF2 should have been!
Best Arena First Person Shooter you can find now. The game is still under development and can only get better.
Anyone who has played AFPS should definitely try it once
It's a solid Quake Live clone with a few modern improvements. Overall, the game is ok but is a bit buggy with very small player base. Hopefully will improve in time with updates.
Very nice arena shooter, fun to play, no farming needed, only skill matters. Technically flawless, I didn't find any glitch or bug yet. Artistic direction is simple, nice and effective. The game seems moderate on system resources, so it must run smooth on any rig. Maps I already tried are alright (there are 30 of them, I obviously didn't play all of them yet). However, but I hope these points will be improved in the future, some features are lacking at this moment. There is no classic Team Death Match mode. The modes you can play in teams are too innovative for my tastes. The one that gets closest to "classic" is "wipeout", but there is no time / score mechanism. In wipeout mode, you have to eliminate all enemy team in order to win. That point alone is imho the major drawback of the game right now. There is no music except when you pick up the quad damage power-up. I'd like something catchy like EDM or old-school metal or hard-rock. Also, the UI is extremely dull now. Some animations and nice sounds would be welcome (for example on the battle pass screen), And finally, playing Diabotical I soooo miss the bloody giblets from old-school AFPSs (QC this is directed at you ;) ), associated with the appropriate sound, of course. At the moment this game only shows an explosion when you frag a guy, as a reward.
To sum this up, the good news is Diabotical has the core **** AFPS (though I'm not good enough at it to judge about hit-boxes or weapon balance; these seem good to me). Bad news is, there seems to be a certain amount of work still to be done in order to have a nice and shiny wrapping around that core.
However, you got to keep in mind this is totally free to play, no pay-to-win here, no grinding needed to level up crappy weapons whatsoever. So, if you ever were really into AFPS, you definitely have no excuse not to give it a try.
Another AFPS game with outdated mechanics, graphics and sound, and with minimum new ideas.
Core game modes are legacy from 90's, and those that are issued as new, are just a mix of the old ones and not differs really much between each other. Generic customization, battle passes, stickers and all this stuff.
For some reason, the developers decided that it is necessary to copy Quake only, and skip all other late AFPS games, which have much more modern and various game ideas (like Unreal Tournament).
Macguffin is the only thing, inspired by UT2004's "Bombing Run" and QC's Sacrifice which is quite interesting as a team-based mode.
In general the game looks like blast from the past. I would understand if this game was released in the early 2000s, but now it is hard to understand who will play this today...
Game modes are bad, movement is awful, maps are so big for duels, no server browser, no marketing, bad patches, wipeout and aim arenas made this game looks like multiplayer kovaak.
