  1. Its redefined difficulty turns it into a platforms game both for nostalgic games and most of the public.
  2. Older gamers will love it, but young 'uns might scratch their heads. A fun but dated romp. [July 2010, p.89]
  3. The game, though, is the same enjoyable knockabout romp that it ever was, and Gameloft has thankfully made no attempt to shoehorn touch-screen controls in unnecessarily. If you feel a burning urge to spend 500 points to relive some small part of your lost youth, you won't be disappointed.
  4. Earthworm Jim has made the step to DSiWare relatively well, with all the immature humour, off-the-wall level design and charm that made it such a hit in its 16-bit days.
  5. If you've played Earthworm Jim before there's really nothing new here besides a tacked-on and repetitive camera mini-game. Still, the action platforming core of the game is enjoyable while it lasts.

If you're a fan of the original, snap it up but otherwise consider what else you might buy with your $15 before you decide on this.

Earthworm Jim is a bizarre, somewhat flawed 2D platformer that will assault gamers with devastating challenges.
