Pokémon Black Version 2 is far more than a traditional mid-generation release, with enough new and repurposed content to keep you occupied for months on end.
Black and White 2 offers a compelling record of all that's great from 16 years of catching, collecting, collating and coaxing pocket monsters into ever more exciting forms, bit by wonderful bit.
Yes, it's as excellent as ever, but it doesn't strive to eclipse its predecessor. The poorly paced plot and lack of freshness leads me to believe the original may be better. Black 2 is fully worth a purchase, but beating the game only left me wanting more, and not in a good way.
I want to find 'em all, catch 'em all and train 'em all. But on the other side I dread the level grind, the shallow role-playing and the rocky online connectivity. Then again you get solid and motivating entertainment over weeks, months, if not years. But I am not as euphoric as I thought I should be.
They still do too little to attract non-fans to the series, but for the vast crowd who have already been taken in by its charms, B&W2 will be yet another excuse to catch 'em all.
One of the very few games that was a 10/10. The story was very well made and the gameplay mechanics were gorgeous. The 2D sprite animations will never get old as opposed to when the series decided to become 3D. Tons of after story stuff to do and tons of pokemon to find to fill the pokedex. I always recommend this version to anyone who has a DS or 3DS as one of the must play pokemon games to this day.
Beloved by tamagotchi obsessives and those with the collector gene but this combat-based RPG lite bored me to tears. For me, Pokémon is one of those series in the "I don't get it" file.
While the story is still great, is just a carbon copy of the original Black and White, without any new Pokemon, the same HUD, combat and not even a single flaw of the original was fixed, we have still the same exp system, the slow pacing, excessive grinding, bad level curve for battles, bad designs and repetitive gameplay and overall lack of innovation.
One of the worst Pokemon games ever made imo.
