  1. Impressively attempts to bring the identical console experience to the Game Boy Advance and, for the most part, does an admirable job. Still, it’s clear by the unsteady framerate and choppy graphics that the GBA does have its limits and this game definitely pushes it to the max.
  2. 65
Definitely a fun GBA game, but you have to work through the game's blocky graphics and very inconsistent, chuggy framerate.
  3. Handling isn't exceptional, nor is replay value, but it'll pass muster. [Summer 2003, p.39]
  4. Nine Crazy Box minigames add to the game play variety. [June 2003, p.139]
  5. I’m not saying Catch a Ride is bad, because it does the best job that Crazy Taxi could possibly do on a Game Boy. There are just certain places that the GBA should not go, and a full-out 3D port of a 128-bit game is one of them.
  6. 55
A chunky mess of a game that bears some resemblance to the Crazy Taxi I know and love, but one which is lacking most of its fun.
  7. While Crazy Taxi is still playable despite the faults, the platform’s limitations diminish the overall fun, making this taxicab racer rather pedestrian.
  8. It's missing the original game's great controls and sense of speed, rendering all that other good stuff a wasted effort. [Sept 2003, p.80]
  9. At the end of the day this isn't a matter of graphics whorishness, it's just that the GBA can't do the game justice. Underneath it all you can feel the spirit of the game struggling to get out.
  10. Everything else, from collision detection to control to having only three different cars as traffic, adds up to this game biting the big one. [May 2003, p.94]
  11. 40
Just simply on the jittery, crunchy, slow, and empty side.
  12. Does not even come close to capturing the fun, speed and total recklessness of the original.
  13. When developers start stripping away essentials because the hardware cannot handle the strain, you must question the reasoning behind it. Was it really worth subjecting a world of gamers to this mess that barely resembles the original for the sake of a quick fare?
  14. The whole thing is so choppy, it's almost impossible to play... A total mess. [May 2003, p.41]

Despite it's faults, I really like this game. A thoroughly enjoyable game in my opinion.

This game is not great, but does not deserve such low scores it got. Its still a faithful port, and one of the most impressive 3D game for the GBA.
