87Yep, you've got to use passwords to continue in the campaign mode. Fortunately, the game's pick up and go nature, excellent visuals, decent simulation qualities, and excellent multiplayer more than make up for those problems.

Whether re-fueling in midair, trashing a multi-million dollar aircraft by miscalculating your landing corridor, or blowing enemy fighter jocks from the sky in a blaze of glory, the level of sophistication in F-14 Tomcat is as welcome as it is surprising.
-
72[Its] somewhat generic nature, dark visuals, and repetitious missions may deter the casual flight jockey.
-
70Many play aspects suffer from minor quirks, hence its average marks. [Winter 2001, p.51]
-
67Im taking points off for the lack of frames of animation, repetition, and no battery save, but mainly the last two. Its still a good game.
-
60What's here is cool, if a bit vanilla.
-
45Couldve been an excellent game if the colors were brighter or if the GBA had a back light.
-
40Under-whelming, at best.
