  • Summary: The sequel to Metroid Prime puts you in the role of bounty hunter Samus Aran once again. Your mission is to locate federation troopers who are missing on Aether--a planet torn into light and dark domains. To help you travel through the depths of light and dark, you'll have all-new beam weapons, a screw attack, and power-ups. Eliminate your enemies, solve puzzles, and open doors in an effort to restore peace to Aether. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes also features competitive multiplayer modes supporting up to four players. To match such thrill-a-minute environments, the level design, puzzles, and boss fights are all insanely original.
  2. Nothing comes close to the feeling you get when the Eznite shuts down your systems for the first time and you have to reboot.
  3. It's not dramatically different from the original but, man, is it fun. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a title every GameCube owning shooter fan should have.
  4. The Dark Aether parts of the game added quite a bit of backtracking and mapping which really took me out of the experience more than I'd have liked. Still, the game is better than almost any other released this year, so it's definitely worth picking up.
  5. The great graphics, excellent gameplay and intriguing story line will have gamers glued to their GameCube for hours.
  6. Features a lot more action, is much more story driven, has better graphics and sound, and the game is a lot harder than its predecessor was.
  7. The constant scanning slows down the game, and the generic soundtrack does little to create any drama. But Metroid fans just want to play as Samus. And what's thrilling for those folks is the multiplayer action.

A beautiful, natural and darker sequel of Metroid Prime. Perhaps not having the same
surprise factor, but a really great game. Expand

I liked this game better than its predecessor because it's easier. Not only that, but this FPS looks great. The dark, brooding atmospheres, accompanied with eerie music make for a chilling experience, especially when you turn around to see an alien making a beeline towards you. Expand

A solid and safe sequel to one of the best games ever made. It's not AS good though. It has a few pacing problems as you will be backtracking a lot, through light and dark. The dark world has the same layout as the light world so you'll be going through the same areas a lot. Being the hardest out of the series didn't make it more enjoyable. But if you persevere you will find that Prime 2 does do a lot of things right like Prime 1. 9/10 Expand

I'm giving this an 8 since the levels look the same especially Dark Aether. Sure it supposed to be dull and colorless since, well its Aethers dark twin. This game is a little more suggestive then the first Metroid Prime since enemies now are a lot more scary looking and sounds from them sound very vicious. Multiplayer is so so Expand

Most people like games because of gameplay, graphics, how hard it was... but this game is hard to get into. The first level involves running around with virtually no direction given, and the second is worse, as you have to look for several keys with even less direction. Funnily enough, if you could save whenever you wanted, it might get a 3, but it screws that up too. You have to backtrack all the way to your ship to save. No thanks, this game is strictly for Sci-fi nerds. Expand
