Addictively fun as a multiplayer game, and tricked-out with enough new modes and Franchise options to make the single player experience enjoyable, Hitz Pro delivers on its promise.
  2. An excellent blend of the two styles of play and has enough options, on either side, to appeal to hockey fans of any sensibility. Above all else, the game is just a lot of fun.
  3. Obviously there’s enough here to keep your attention span up to snuff and every single mode available is a lot of fun.
  4. If you played and liked any of the previous NHL Hitz games, then Hitz Pro is definitely a game to get.
  5. It's not as crazy or as outrageous, which might seem a little strange after seeing the direction the game was going in. But once you play NHL Hitz Pro, even for only a few minutes, you'll see that the developers have taken the series in the right direction.
  6. Provides an enjoyable hockey experience that’s easy to pick up and play, graphically sound and aurally interesting just like before. However, this experiment with more realism injected into the series lacks a certain amount of zip that diehard fans have come to know and love.
  7. Game Informer
The new moves are great; fighting is tolerable; and being able to knock down the goalie is a blast. However, the speed is greatly decreased. [Oct 2003, p.131]
  8. Electronic Gaming Monthly
Most hockey games serve up similarly snazzy visuals, tight control, and expansive options, but none of 'em focus on purely wild-and-fun gameplay like this. [Oct 2003, p.136]
  9. The fact of the matter is that the NHL Hitz series was fun to play from day one, and just because there are four more players on the ice for NHL Hitz Pro doesn't change that one bit.

The new simulation aspects are a good attempt to make this year's game appeal to every type of hockey fan, but the game still feels like it's caught in transition.
  11. Nintendo Power
Although the fighting controls are complicated, the rest of the controls are simple and intuitive. [Nov 2003, p.151]

If "serious" is the last thing you associate with hockey games, you’ll have a blast hammering out checks on Hitz' rink - especially since Midway’s rolled back the price a notch.

The franchise may not be as wacky as before, nor as realistic as the competition, but it hits hard, doesn't let up, and is great entertainment for a group of friends looking for something less simmy and more instantly accessible.
  14. Play Magazine
I truly love this game. It has everything a hockey fan could want. From the improved animations to the great Franchise mode to the great Pick Up and Play mode, NHL Hitz Pro is a necessary purchase. [Oct 2003, p.84]
  15. While its simulation dreams don’t match competing games, it offers enough of a varied experience to be considered a good, solid combo of the two sports game styles.

Best game ever controls are simple and the fights are cool.
