  1. With impressive visuals, landmark play mechanics, and multiplayer mayhem, this title is easily recommended for the violence-tolerant.

Fun, certainly, but the single-player is a bit too linear for my tastes and the game ends well before my bedtime.
  3. It's definitely one of the best console first-person shooters on any system. [Apr 2003, p.89]
  4. The geo-mod engine is actually used with the core gameplay with this game, to make it feel like it truly belongs in there. Nothing is more satisfying than taking out a bridge with a grenade and taking a few men with it, instead of trying to get each man one at a time.
  5. The major issue is how quickly the single player mode can be completed. Within six to eight hours, most experienced players will have finished the game leaving only the multiplayer mode.
  6. Even the moments of relative calm are intense.
  7. There is something very satisfying about blowing through obstacles, rather than looking for keys that fit into locks. [May 2003, p.137]
  8. The Geo-Mod system was better utilized this time around and also very well tied into the multiplayer mode. But one can’t just stop thinking about the possibilities if a game like Red Faction was made from the ground up on the GameCube hardware.

A gripping and action-packed experience that will appease if you’re jonesing for a straightforward FPS.

A decent game. I guess in terms of originality, its not much, but the Geo-mod thing really adds to the fun in multiplayer. The graphics could A decent game. Red Faction II is a bad game disguised as a good if you know what i'm saying. It sucks. Good concept, James Bond style, but the levels Red Faction II is a bad game disguised as a good if you know what i'm saying. It sucks. Great game, gets a bit boring after you've completed story mode for the first time. Great multiplayer.
