  1. This game is, simply put, brilliant. The music is intoxicating, the locales magical and the overall vibe decidedly dreamy. [Dec 2003, p.77]
  2. Getting the Mummy burnt, shocked, and sliced makes for both fun and funny gameplay. Watching Sphinx do double-jumps and sword strokes, on the other hand, fills me with "eh." [Dec 2003, p.204]

We've been playing games almost exactly like this (though not nearly as pretty) ever since the PlayStation/Nintendo 64 days. While the graphics and audio are just above average, compared to its contemporaries, Sphinx is a rather anachronistic play experience that falls short when seen next to some of the more brilliant and innovative platformers (e.g. "Jak II") around today.

A grand and epic adventure, this game is worthy of being considered one of the great titles for the Gamecube. The levels are immense, the puzzles well thought out, and the action is superb. Expand

The game is great looking and fun UNTIL you get to the spot with the BUG and CAN'T GO ON. My saved game was saved at a BAD SPOT (ONLY 6.5 hrs. into it) and then you have to start all over. Expand
