  • Summary: You may not be able to live like the legend, but now you can skate like him. Skate as the legendary Tony Hawk or choose from a dream team of 12 top pro skaters, including old favorites like Lasek, Thomas, Muska, and Steamer, as well as new talent like Gilfberg, Caballero, Koston, and Mullen. Or enjoy full customization abilities with the enhanced Create-a-Skater (now including female skaters) and the Skatepark Editor. Travel from L.A. to Tokyo, Suburbia to Skater's Island performing challenges and meeting goals. New moves include the Revert, which allows you to link vert tricks, and flatland tricks such as Caspers, the Primo, and Handstand Manual. If you're good, you can even unlock hidden pro footage. 1. Zipping along at 60 frames per second, you almost forget you're looking at a game. [Dec 2001, p.166]

Another giant step for this relatively young series.
  3. The controls have also been polished, and GameCube’s controller is put to excellent use. The location of the Y button allows the gamer to press both A and Y, which makes grinding a lot easier, as the gamer must jump with A and grind with Y.
  4. It expands on the previous game with new stages, more tricks, an excellent and varied soundtrack and more. It just doesn’t have much in the way of innovation.
  5. So many games nowadays fall short when it comes to life span, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is the very definition of value for money.
  6. With a slick combination of pleasing graphics, awesome music, huge environments to explore, and a killer combo control system, the game's replay value flies over the ramp and off the charts.
  7. There is no doubt about the quality of the series and its playability, but I wish for more: invention, freedom, a camera that behaves and link up play for instance.

Wow! This game came out in 2001? I find that hard to believe because the gameplay looks like 2004. This is among the best sports games I have played. Not only have the skateboarding physics improved, but the large amount of customization and fantastic level design are great. The controls can be very difficult, so I recommend this to more experienced players. You can not only create your own skater character, but also your own skate park! Expand

One of my most favorite games. With all the characters and other things to unlock it makes this game one of the best ive played.

This is as close as you get to Tony Hawk perfection. The levels are awesome, the combos that you can pull are amazing. This is a must own game cube game. Expand

This game is great, but not as good as THPS 4 in my opinion. And the music is great, and I have no idea why Ian and Shawn hated it.

Tony Hawk 2 was awesome and this game is even better. The new revert lets you do almost infinite combos but i have one gripe. Whats with the punk and rap music? I would have given this game a 9 if there was some decent rock music, but its filled with pussy ass punk and rap. If there ever is a sequel, please consider adding music with balls, okay neversoft?
