  • Summary: The tiger returns to take back the Outback in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2. The evil Boss Cass has broken out of Currawong Jail and has hatched a plan to take over the world with an army of Uber Reptiles. Now it's up to Ty, the boomerang-wielding hero, and his newly formed team of Burramudgee Bush Rescue mates to stop him. As Ty, you can explore an expansive open environment on foot or in a vehicle. You'll also have access to more boomerangs and mech units, each with special powers and abilities. Collapse

  1. One downside is that there's a heck of a lot here that's pulled together from other games, if you're up on your gaming history you can play 'spot the element' here and rattle off a good five or so games that do bits of Ty 2 better than Ty 2 does.
  2. While Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue isn't going to rock the gaming world to its foundations or win any awards, it's still an enjoyable and entertaining platform romp that will surprise those of you who decide to take a chance on it.
  3. The separate cart racing game is a nice addition, weapon pickups and all, although you’ll need to run a few races to get used to the wider turning radius of the different carts.
  4. Mission objectives are not always clear and some youngsters might get lost or frustrated at the lengthy travelling between missions, but there is always something fun to see or do.
  5. Older audiences probably won't be engaged by it, but Ty 2 should be easily appreciated by juvenile platformer fans.
  6. In real life, Tasmanian tigers have been hunted to extinction, so we're getting our NOM shotgun ready to finish the job and kill Ty off.
  7. There's almost no variety in levels. Everything is squeezed onto one huge map.

This game was insanely fun, even though as an Australian I often found that the characters were a bit much...

But still, it's cool seeing a
quality game that is uniquely Australian and I would rate it as one of the best puzzle platformers of its era (right up there with Super Mario Sunshine and Ratchet & Clank)! Expand
