  1. Isn't quite the RPG it originally promised to be. However, the great fighting engine and deep character customization makes Virtua Fighter Cyber Generation [Virtua Quest] stand above the average 3D brawler. [JPN Import]

    The action is mediocre at best, and the platform elements feel sloppy and unrefined. The graphics and sound are equally forgetful. The only glaring problem comes by way of the silly camera. It really gets in your way and detracts from the overall experience.
  3. The action is plagued by loose controls and a bad camera, your scores of brain-dead opponents never put up enough of a fight to make things satisfying, and it's all set in a blandly designed world.
  4. The game feels oddly piecemeal: From its bland anime hero on a quest to collect "data chips" to its "downloadable" special abilities, Virtua Quest seems more like a Mega Man Battle Network game than a VF title.
  5. The fighting system and RPG elements give the game some interesting depth, and compared to mature rated games like "NanoBreaker" and "Death By Degrees," Virtua Quest's combat aspects are infinitely more satisfying.
  6. Sadly while it is an interesting concept, Virtua Quest just doesn't have all the right moves to make this as enjoyable as the fighting games that inspired this title.

  8. So where are the virtua fighters in Virtua Fighter Cyber Generation? They are in there, it's just they're well hidden and take some time to find. Maybe they're too embarrassed to be associated with Sei's mess of a game or maybe they got lost on their way to "Virtua Fighter 5."

    Although not zero worthy, i will agree with Maunel T. that this game sucks. I'd pay good money to see the f..ckin' annoyin brat Sei to get swalloed whole by a snake, the controls suck, the gameplay is on par (or even below) with the sh.tty grabbed by the ghoulies, and the plot is another f.ckin' sh.tty Cyper-world in peril by half-ass bad guys and must be saved by a half-ass dork. Avoid it like you would a party being thrown by a geek with a crush on his sister named Olga. Full Review »
