    What I got, after the nostalgia wore off, is a fairly pedestrian arcade game with some big control issues to work out.

    A competent top-down shooter, but indifferent controls and an almost horizontal difficult curve keep it from fully taking off.

    1942 is a dull looker. There are much better top-down shooters in the App Store for you to spend your money on.

    Perhaps only a real joystick can work for this kind of game, but I'd like to think Capcom can at least give it another look, and fix or tweak the controls in an update.
