A Little War isn't a particularly deep or challenging game in its own right, but there is a lot of fun to be had from this free title - and it's one that doesn't push you too hard to hit up the coin store either. If you're looking for something to kill a few commutes to work or school, this micro-strategy title should be just the ticket.

I don't believe this is a "bad" game per se, but it just feels like something built to let the player do as little as possible, and there's just not much fun to really be had from it because of that.

A Little War is fun and offers up a surprising amount of simplistic strategy once things really get going. It's also pretty cute and the way the soldiers' and hero's appearances change as they get stronger is pretty awesome. It's just a shame that it pushes the whole "freemium" thing so hard, as it sometimes gets in the way of simply having fun.
