The player's fingers may not be on Colossatron's trigger or steering wheel but Halfbrick has come up with a puzzling, action packed way to help Colossatron complete his mission of world domination.

A solid game that offers plenty of fun while making the most of what iOS has to offer. A sharp difficulty spike and the lure of in-game purchases puts only a small dent in this ambitious and largely successful offering. [Issue 1, February 2014]

Halfbrick gives us another solid and addictive experience that is worth our time. Apart from its foundations, we can expect many updates from the studio, so we've got plenty of months ahead to enjoy this frenetic experience.

If it had a lower difficulty and an easier way to acquire power-ups, Colossatron would be an instant classic alongside Halfbrick's other releases. For now, it's still a monstrously good time, and a novel way to let loose on some of that built-up holiday stress.

Colossatron is the latest game developed by Halfbrick. The app is colorful and the gameplay is intuitive and fun. The longevity is not great but the replayability value is very high. Colossatron is engaging and destroying the world has never been so much fun.

Colossatron is a crazy, destructive action game that forces you to surrender control to a giant robotic space dragon.

Colossatron takes a short while to get started, but it ramps up into a really fun, simple experience that's best enjoyed in portions. It never truly hits the heights and endless replayability factor of games like Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, but it's a solid offering in Halfbrick's growing list of mobile classics.

An interesting mash of ideas, styles, and polish, Colossatron just about manages to pull it off.

Colossatron comes ready to destroy everything, but it is just a bit too chaotic, and players are given too little control.

Still, Colossatron can be good fun – especially by the end when you’ve unlocked all of the gadget options.

Colossatron’s couple hours of campaign chaos are plenty amusing, but it’s short on the depth and diversity needed to ensure real staying power.

Simultaneously addictive and insubstantial. [Apr 2014, p.75]

Colossatron features a noticeably more punishing microtransaction model than Halfbrick’s previous efforts, and the gameplay isn’t inherently fun or varied enough to disguise the lengthy grind required to advance.
