Dragon Island Blue successfully demonstrates the less-cuddly side of monster collecting.

It might feel like something of a waste for a little while, but stick with it. Once that slow start is finished it gets a lot more fun.

There are sadly no prizes for guessing which evergreen Nintendo franchise this game is trying to replicate, and while it's not in the same class, Dragon Island Blue should appeal to fans of the genre.

While it doesn't exactly innovate on the genre, it's still something I find myself coming back to, forever intent on nudging my menagerie over the next performance plateau.

I love much of what Dragon Island has to offer. There are just some elements that clearly lack the polish and depth of the Nintendo title it pays homage to.

A little bit Pokemon, a little Final Fantasy, Dragon Island Blue has the makings of an engaging game, but its presentation and pace weigh it down.

$1 for a pokemon themed adventure you can play with friends. what can go wrong? My only qualm is that sometimes the game is way to hard, but otherwise it is extremely satisfying finding, battling, and crafting monsters Expand
