EPOCH is no doubt one of the most interesting shooters available on the App Store. You can use a lot of different weapons and fight a lot of different enemies through a nice single player campaign that you have to complete three times, at different difficulty levels, to find out what happened to the person your robot was supposed to protect. The graphics are gorgeous thanks to the Unreal Engine, the touch controls work fine.

This isn't a deep game by any means, but it's colourful, noisy, and approaches iOS's limitations with cunning.

November's best iOS games include an addictive 3D puzzler, an open-world adventure (but not the one you think), and a great-looking shooter powered by the Unreal Engine.
