It's a well-put-together adventure title that should appeal to people with fond memories of old school Zelda, and an excellent first effort from its creators. If there's one big drawback though, it's that Fara is short.

Not great, but not terrible; you may not curse our name if you play through this, but you probably won't thank us for the recommendation, either.

Ultimately, Fara falls prey to more RPG cliches than it mocks. It's ambitious, and not overly-so, but it's neither unique enough or successful enough to stand out from other games in the action RPG genre.

While not completely free of the flaws it highlights in other role-playing games, Fara's tongue-in-cheek humour cannot fail to evoke a smile from even the most stony-faced RPG player.

Fara is a well polished action RPG from a small team. The game may not be epic in scale, but it seems about the right size for a small device and it is compelling enough to merit a look. The hand-painted environments are beautifully crafted, and the dialogue is funny even if a bit over the top at times.

A fairly enjoyable app with a few noteworthy setbacks. Those who are seeking a very long adventure or those who become frustrated very easily with poor controls may wish to avoid the app, as it is significantly lacking in these aspects. For those who are looking for an advanced RPG game and can overlook these setbacks, however, look no further than Fara.

It can never just get out in front of the very things it's poking fun at, and just ends up getting mired in it. It's fun, but it's a limited kind of enjoyment. Once finished, you'll have no reason to ever go back.

From its trailers and screens, Fara promised an epic role-playing adventure in a beautifully crafted world. In actuality, Fara produces an extremely short adventure game with average music and visuals, insufficient difficulty and story, and hardly any RPG elements. While some RPGamers may find Fara to be a worthwhile use of two hours, most would be better off leaving this unwilling hero stranded on that island to fend for himself.
