Exceptionally good fun. It's an enjoyable re-imagining of a tried and tested formula and one that easily offers that 'one more go' factor.

Magic Orbz is a cheerily presented Breakout clone that adds physics-based destruction and some fun power-ups to the mix. But, it's still a Breakout clone.

This game had the potential to be one of the best Arkanoid's children together with the good Wizorb, but it fails miserably on small screens due to a bad control system. The buttons are way too small for a 3,5 / 4 inches device, and will definitely frustrate the player several times. The game obviously plays a way better on the bigger screens of an iPad.

Magic Orbz is good, solid fun which takes a tried-and-true foundation and builds upon it nicely. It could do with a little more variety than what it offers, and can grow a little dull if played for longer stretches, but in quick bursts, it satisfies nicely.

A new coat of paint on an old game mechanic that does a lot to make Magic Orbz a lot of fun to play.

Speed and control niggles aside, it's an incredibly imaginative title that might lean on an old staple of gaming for its core gameplay, but also freshens the experience up enough to make a corner of that genre its own.

For those who enjoy old school gameplay with some fun new twists and a cheerful demeanor, I think Magic Orbz will be right up your alley. Some control issues, a bit of laggy input and being a bit too easy for my tastes keeps the title from getting a higher score; but Magic Orbz is still a fun game that will keep you entertained for a while without breaking the bank.

The charm of Magic Orbz is plain to see from the moment you first pick the game up and it's certainly a great addition to the hallowed halls of the best Breakout games. Easily recommended for any fan of the genre.
