In the end, Rock(s) Rider isn't a failure; it just comes up a little short. With a little patience players can learn to work around the controls (for the most part), but a little tweaking would make a much-needed difference.

Rock Rider is a fun romp that feels like a tune-up or two away from greatness.

Rock(s) Rider has it's fair share of faults, mostly in setting levels which feel just the wrong side of unfair and having a camera which is zoomed in a little close. As with every other game in this genre, the physics isn't as good as it is in Redlynx's title by a long shot, the bike is often far too light to seem realistic.

Rock(s) Rider is a great example of a skill-based time-trial title, but in many ways it falls short, with art and gameplay features occasionally feeling incomplete.

Ambitious but poorly designed tracks and immense frustration ultimately condemn this Trials-alike.

Rock(s) Rider feels unfinished at heart with a lot of fancy stuff layered on top. After hitting the head of the rider twenty times in a row without realising that the obstacle was obscured by a beam in another layer I had to conclude that I wasn't having any fun at all.
