A perfect game to be filed under the category of "plays much better than it looks", I am a little embarrassed to say that I almost skipped over this one while browsing through the App Store, but I'm incredibly glad that I didn't-it quickly became one of my favorite iOS games, period.

Rune Raiders aims more for the casual gamer; for hardcore strategy fans, consider 100 Rogues as a pretty good alternative strategy iPhone game. For everyone else, Rune Raider is a decent, if not short, entrance to the world of strategy role-playing games.

An interesting and simple to play strategy game based around dungeon crawling with a band of adventurers and securing all that immaculate treasure.

Cartoony, simple, and entertaining, Rune Raiders offers a great introduction into turn-based strategy games. It just doesn't have enough to keep the veteran strategist engaged.
