  1. A game fit for both Napoleonic gamers and those looking for a more cerebral RTS game.
  2. 83
The greatest adaptation of this battle. It offers a different style of gaming than La Grande Armee, but the bottom line is that this title probably has the broadest appeal.
  3. As far as Napoleonic warfare goes, you'd be hard-pressed to find a game as visceral and polished as Austerlitz: Napoleon's Greatest Victory.
  4. Austerlitz will not dazzle with its graphical elements, but what it will do is delight fans of war games with its depth of play.
  5. While not as complicated as some of Shrapnel’s other games (a good thing) it’s a particularly slow affair.
  6. Game Informer
The gameplay and unit AI is so suspect that, from time to time, you just have to wonder what the hell is going on...Play hiccups notwithstanding, this is a game for hardcore strategy fans. [Sept 2002, p.93]
  7. Computer Gaming World
With the new AI and multiplayer features, Austerlitz finally does justice to what was a revolutionary game system. Sid Meier should be proud. [Nov 2002, p.129]
  8. The graphics look atrocious! First things first, the screen resolution is limited to 800x600 with no possibility to change this; the only thing you can turn on is the fog effect, which does look all right, but it utterly kills the gameplay.
