  • Summary: Feel the power of really flying a B-17! See what it was like to be part of the 10-man crew on dangerous bombing missions over occupied Europe. Outstanding graphics, animations, and sounds realistically recreate every aspect of the strategic air war in WWII. [Hasbro Interactive]

  1. Before any other developer even thinks about making another flight simulator, they should play this game and then ask themselves if they feel worthy.
  2. An extremely flexible sim that really puts you in the middle of the flak at 20,000 feet. [Mar 2001, p.80]
  3. Casual gamers, however, should skip this title (unless they're WWII plane enthusiasts), because the learning curve is steep.
  4. A good-looking B-17 experience with a full range of different tasks to tinker with and some quick blasts of action all wrapped in a lightweight strategy envelope.

Well, I would rate it that, wouldn't I! :) But seriously, what a great team it was that put it all together. I flew a few multiplayer missions in the fighters in development and it was the best multiplayer experience ever. If only we'd had time to implement it on the B-17s and test it so it could have been released... Expand

A simulator that fully justifies its title.
