This game is simply a win on every front. Firstly, I really appreciate its simulation style approach to the soccer experience. So many other soccer games simply magnetize the ball to the player, while aiming their passes and shots for them. This is of course to appeal to a broader, more casual audience. Ball 3D on the other hand is not so easily content. You dribble yourself; you pass yourself; you juke yourself. This competency demand creates a much more enriching experience for the player for those willing to go the extra mile to hone their skills. All of the previously mentioned mechanics control expertly. The decision to use disks as players put full focus on the marriage of mechanics and control, contributing to a playscape of executional precision, making this perhaps the most viable competitive soccer experience on the market today.
And even better than that? It's not just Soccer! Volleyball, Basketball, Darts, Ping Pong, Racing, Battle Royal and many more are all included at no additional charge! The sheer variety puts all of the competition to shame, and my friends and I found great fun to be had in nearly all of the game modes. Top it off with several different stages, many of which wildly unique in their play experience, and you have one of the most replayable multiplayer games I've seen that I can't help but return to time and time again.
Like many competitive multiplayer genres, sports game fans have been beaten into submission. Constantly accepting reskins of the same game, often times offering less and less content as the years go by.
