  1. Baseball Mogul 2008 is absolutely great at what it does – a fantasy baseball simulator that lets you call all the shots for your team, from trades, lineups, and other GM and Manager duties. The simulator itself is extremely fast, accurate, and realistic with tons of ways to tweak if you find yourself needing to do so.
  2. No other game comes close to the major league statistical detail offered in this addictive simulation of our national pastime. [Sept 2007, p.60]
  3. It is limited in scope, but this makes it perfect for those with limited experience with similar products or gamers who are looking for a more casual baseball management title, while also making it a difficult recommendation for the more ambitious player.
  4. Combining the stats demanded by baseball gearheads with great ease of use, Baseball Mogul 2008 hits the ball and touches 'em all.
  5. It can be addictive, will have you second-guessing yourself, will elicit growls of frustration when your bullpen can't get a single out and turns a winning proposition into a losing affair – you know, all the things that make a real baseball game fun to watch.
  6. In the end, Baseball Mogul 2008 is a very satisfying baseball experience, just not on the field but rather from a general manager's perspective. The lack of action isn't for everyone, but for the baseball nerd, it offers hours and hours (and hours and hours …) of engrossing simulation style gaming.
  7. Baseball Mogul 2008 hits a homer for gamers who sit in the stands with a scorecard and keep track of every foul ball. However, unless they're part of that very specific group, which there are legions, this baseball sim will likely be as much fun as watching the infield grass grow.
  8. If you are someone like me, who takes baseball really seriously and follows their favorite team closer than anyone else you know, then I would strongly recommend this game.

While there's lots for baseball junkies to manage in their hunt for Steinbrenner-like control, errors littered around the game weaken the experience. But if you're more concerned with how a player hits against a right-handed pitcher over 5'10" at dusk with a full moon, this one's for you.
  10. The game promises the a lot but in the end, absolutely fails to deliver any kind of entertaining experience.
  11. Stay away from this game if you're new to the series, and try to find yourself a copy of "Front Page Sports Baseball" or even "High Heat Baseball." I would recommend High Heat Baseball 2002 for your PC baseball simulation needs. Not only was the simulation aspect remarkable, but you could actually play the game as well.

This game is sweet and underrated. People give it low scores because it doesn't have any graphics. This game is for the mentally inclined that can see the game through numbers and not just some graphics. I am a die hard baseball mogul fan till the day I kick the bucket. Full Review »

Much easier than rivals. A good introduction to the baseball GM genre. Troubled AI can make the game easy however.

Poor game, the look & feel is outdated, and compared to other baseball simulation games like Out of the Park Baseball, this game falls way short in fun factor, realism and depth. Full Review »
